Hoo-rah!

Last night, writteninstars, reckleslinguist, and myself partook of the second in the Jake Gyllenhaal fall movie trifecta, Jarhead, and...sigh! I mean, it combines two things that I go nuts over, war movies and Jake Gyllenhaal, and when the two are combined, I could bl...

Okay, so aside from the shallow-ended part of seeing a very pretty Jake, the content of the movie was very good. And inasmuch as war movies go, this one was more like a portrait or painting of what waiting, uncertainty, and fear will drive some people to do. My only complaint about the film was that the last 10 or 15 minutes of the film seemed rushed and out of place in retrospect to the pace and feel of the rest of it, which I understand that they needed to wrap it up somewhere, but there were some things that weren't fully explained. All in all, it's a keeper and one that I'll definately add to my war movie/Jake Gyllenhaal DVD collection.

As for what I did today, I didn't go to the big flea market or wash my car like I wanted to, but instead went to eat yummy chinese food with Sahvi and Shane, and then we went and walked around the toy store to get some ideas for Christmas. We ended up buying Sahvi the Elmo that does the chicken dance. She squees everytime we play it and it is so funny. And, she took her first (unsteady) steps today. It's hard to believe that she'll be a year old soon.

Well, that's it for now. I'm going to wait for Shane to get back home and we're going to watch Batman Begins.
