why am i restricting myself to pre-industrial western culture, with maybe a sprinkling of eastern and african cultures? there are INFINITE possibilities for creating my own culture. why does it have to be something i am so familiar with? why can an imagined story have an imagine culture? or for that matter, a familiar physiology? why can't the men give birth? why can't the children be born old and die young (yeah, i know--benjamin button...but still)? what is restricting me? what is holding me back?
