Right, I haven't been on for a couple days because I've had a load of performances.
First of all, happy belated 63rd birthday, Mick Jagger, my swively dinosaur friend.
I just recently portrayed him in 'The Dracula Rock Show', which wasn't as bad as 'Score'. But first things first.
On tuesday, I was an extra pirate in the little kid's show, 'Peggy the Pint Sized Pirate' ('Sonovabitch!!' 'Angie!' '...Sorry') and I and the MT Gang had a lot of fun with that. Then, fifteen minutes later, I had my performance with the Gospel Choir, which was really a gospel trio. Then, I had my Drama performance, where I was the villain AKA the Fairy GodMother. We did alright in that, me, Kristen and Emily had to cover for about two minutes while everyone else (ie Bojangles and Sabrina) did nothing. And I thought that merited a Chony for Covering. Let me tell you about last night.
Yesterday was our Musical Theatre performance, 'The Dracula Rock Show'. I was really feeling very optimistic about it, and it went really well. I was in the first four numbers, and even though I didn't have any lines in the play, I had to cover again for Maya, twice. It went OK. Emily was HILARIOUS as Quasimodo, and Kristen and I were backstage, trying with everything we had not to laugh. My entrance as 'Jagged Mick' the undead really old former singer of The Geriatrics was great, I ad libbed a bit with a little introduction. The opening notes of my song came on and I opened my mouth to sing when
The music stopped.
The music stopped playing in about the middle of the tenth note.
I was swole. I said, 'Oh, what's this then? On my birthday and everything, the music stops...' I improvised for about a minute, and then the woman in the box fixed it. The music came back on, and I sang. Everything went according to plan, and I finished the song and backed up. The narrators did their lines, and we set up for the Finale.
About two and a half seconds into the song, the music stopped. Again.
SWOLE.
More improv, for about three minutes this time, while Ms T, our Drama teacher is whispering frantically into her headset. More people got into the ad libbing this time around, and we did pretty well, considering. The music was fixed, we ended the show and did our bows. I got a large cheer, if I say so myself...
Lotsa groupies came backstage 'Oh, was that supposed to happen, or was it an accident?' I replied with, 'Trade Secret. Sorry.'
Good show, right guys? :) XD
PS. Oh yeah, props to
waterfish57 for my icon. *Love*
