Well, I did this last year so I figured I might as well do it again -- sort of a short director's commentary to some of the stories, along with toting up all the numbers. Lots more to add up this year, which is very cool.
Hey, go back a year and see what I did in '06 and you probably won't feel bad at all. :P And yeah, being out of the country for almost half the year does make a huge difference.
I will gladly take full responsibility for Family Obligations...still loving that fic... *nods*
:-)
And a hundred thousand words for the detailed and well written fic you do is a good number...that kind of writing takes more time then the normal slash-dash one-off's a lot of people(including myself) tend to write... :-)
And I don't think that's how it works, really. Some people who are really great writes just buzz along like mad, and some people who are pretty lousy at it have to pull out each word with pliers. There's a disconnect -- or at any rate, there's not necessarily a connection -- between quality and quantity, in either direction. That said, though, I would certainly like to be able to write more. :P I mean, even NaNo pace is only 1667 words per day, which isn't that much. [sigh] I should be able to do it regularly. Or even a thousand words per day.
Of course, if I could count all the keyboard babbling I do on my journals and blogs, and commenting on other people's journals and blogs, I'd be well over NaNo pace every day with no sweat at all. [wry smile]

This year will be better. I suppose I have the excuse of being out of the country for five months and a bit this year...
