Update on "Maud and Me"
Got this brief note today from one of the editors of the academic book:
"Ebony, I love this essay, the way you've woven together two seemingly disparate worlds into a cohesive whole through storytelling your life and work. (Name removed) and I will be editing it together, but I just wanted you to know that I think your "humble contribution" makes a *great* contribution to this collection and stretches all our creative visions."
I am *so* thankful... because I metaprocessed my fandom experience in a couple of paragraphs in the section on The Blue Castle, writing a two paragraph version of what my mentor believes will be a full article someday. And yes, I was very candid, given the genre and the need for concision. The comments from one of the top figures in my hoped-for field makes me feel so humble, and so very glad.
Just thought that all of you should know the good news. I love you guys so much... and I'll let you know when the anthology is published next year. Stay tuned.
