Happy CNY and Stuff

For some reason, this Chinese New Year has been too busy.

Usual cleanup on Sunday, the eve, but were done by the evening where we could enjoy our reunion dinner and later watch the fireworks. Lil Sis isn't home since she has classes to attend, but we managed to have her watch over Skype through Sis-in-law's iPad, which was rather funny. Our firecrackers this way seemed to be stronger than before -- debris hit me and it hurt. Um, first three days consist of visiting and being visited all day, almost without stop, so I only got about 6 hours of sleep per day. See, now I'm sick from lack of sleep. Meh. At least things slowed down on the fourth day, Jesmond visited as usual, and I went out with Kae Ron, Amy and Ling Ling last night and got home only at midnight after spending too long trying to self-take pictures and laughing our tears out. Also drove to Bintangor yesterday, a tiny town about more than half hour away. Nice to be in the countryside.

Also, I finally opened my mission package on Saturday, after picking it up on Wednesday and waiting forever for Lil Sis to get on. I will be a missionary from April 28, 2012 in Taichung, Taiwan for the following 18 months. Meaning I'll disappear off internet for that period of time, and the only way to figure out what I'm doing is through a blog that I'll have Lil Sis to update once in a while, or e-mail at a specific address which I'll provide later. I can try to remember and e-mail those who want to be told personally what I'm up to, but only once a week or every other week. Don't worry, 18 months isn't too long if you think about it -- I was out of job for almost 10 months and it felt like nothing at all. I think I'll enjoy myself in Taiwan too -- Lil Sis is jealous of me, since she loves Taiwan like heck, but we'll see. I'll be back by end of October next year already, how fast is that?

Only sad thing is that I'll miss next year's CNY, which happens to be the Year of the Snake. Good thing Taiwan celebrates CNY, there will still be a feeling of it. I'll let you guys know again some details later.

Flying back to Singapore tomorrow. Sigh.
