I've stolen this post from opal, cause it's a good idea

Here's the gist.
You suggest books. Nice ones without will smith on the cover. That is the only rule.
Then I read them, and review. Unless I've read them before, then I may choose to not read them.

I could probably get credit for this - but nah.

So go!
Suggest.

What I'd like too do this summer is design and read 'The Ultimate Reading List'. I'd like some international authors, some Canadian authors, something from several different genres, and a couple of classics that everyone should read at some point in their lives. The problem with this is that I've read A LOT of books, many classics, waaay too much fantasy/sci fi/urban fantasy... and I'm really really biased when it comes to authors.

So what I'd like is everyone who reads this to suggest at least one book that they like. I am getting a Kingston library card tonight, there is a used bookstore by my house and I have a Chapters card. I know of lots of used bookstores in Ottawa too so I should be able to find most anything people suggest provided it isn't out of print or reallyreally rare.

What I am going to do is make a post about each book as I read them; what I liked, didn't like, didn't get and basically a short opinion essay about the book. Everyone is welcome to read along and make their own comments, comment on books they've read etc. I may make this project it's own lj to separate it from my posts about me and my life.

If no one suggests anything then I will start designing it myself, but I would really really like some suggestions from others, just so that I get more ideas.

I reserve the right to not read something if I have read it before, really can't get into it, or can't get a hold of it. But I will make an attempt to at least find everything suggested, even if I don't think I will like it. But please don't suggest anything with Will Smith on the cover. I just don't like Will Smith.

booky thing
