Le Sigh~

So... Here I sit. Alone. Once again. Le Sigh.

Im going to ramble for a little bit.

So I've put down the Anita Blake for a while to begin the Harry Potter series. Robert is already on book six so I've got a lot of catchin' up to do. Only three chapters in and its like, holy the crap this is differen't. Im going to read 'em all then watch them all. I've seen and rather enjoyed all of the Potter films. Robert seemed to really love the books and Nettie has found a new hobby. I wonder if I will get just as addicted.

Im a bit of a slow reader. It takes me a while to get through a book, I read a little and then fall asleep. Unless ofcourse, we're talkin' Poppy Z. Brite's Lost Souls. That book is awsome, a bit of a quick read because it was just so good. Easily my favorite book. I know a lot of the topic kids and darkies would throw a fit to hear me say this, but if Anne Rice had Poppy Z write her books, it would all be so much better. She tells storied very well and doesnt spend a fucking page describing a fucking button on the damn character's shirt. I can't finish Rice's books, they're way to drawn out.

You know who I also really like as far as writers go? Stephen King. He's written a few that I absolutely love. Salem's Lot was definitly hard to put down and I have found that with King's writting, I can't put the book down and I know and care about the characters. As appossed to say the Anita Blake novels were I lose track of all her flambuyant vamps and lycans. They all have lushious hair and wear leather pants. Yeah I get it.

King's books are exillerating to me. Everyone I've picked up I've had trouble putting back down. In fact, the first book I ever read on my own w/o it being something for school, was Carrie and I enjoyed it very, very much. You see when I was younger my Grandmother always said things like "You have a T.V., what you want a book for?"... So I didn't much get into books unless they were read aloud in class. I remember being very fond of that time in school. To this day I have gone back to later read some of the same stories. A Wrinkle in Time was one I was very found of when it was read to the class in 8th grade. I read it again earlier last year. I WANT AN AUNT BEAST DAMN IT!!!! LOL

When Robert and I started seeing eachother he introduced me to books. He was always giving me another to read. He introduced me to Lost Souls and from there many other great books. Ooooh, like John Steakly's Vampires, wow is that ever an awsome book. If I were ever to meet Adam Baldwin (Jayne Cobb) I would recommend this one to him. I think it would be right up his alley.

Another book he got me into later (going back to the King), was Stephen King's Salems Lot. Definitly one I had trouble putting down. I think he does an awsome job of really setting up the towns and the characters. You know and connect with these fictional people which I don't think a lot of writters know how to do without smothering you in needless details. Though I have finished all the stories, I have read a portion of Different Seasons a collection of short stories by King. I adored it. I read Apt. Pupil, it was raw and desturbing and I couldn't fucking put it down. That's definitly a story that they didn't adapt well to film. I can't stand the movie because it seems choppy. It's incomplete. Reda Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption was definitly an awsome story that was adapted well to film. Gawd do I ever love that movie. Which brings me to The Green Mile. That's another one of my all time favorites. That book is sooooooooo damn good. I was painfully adicted. I cared so much about the characters, I was so deeply lost in the story. Infact when I finished the book I was upset that there was no more to read. Apt. Pupil was like that too. I wanted more. Much more. I think that's what books should be.

I don't know how I got started on all this, but hey, I feel a little bit better. Im sure that absolutely no living soul cares... .... But like I said I feel better.

July 8th. Ima goin' to see NIN w/Bauhaus.
