The time gap is closing slowly until we reach the days of WorldMUN in Geneva. One of the things every MUNer knows is that drawing attention to yourself is the most important thing in a model. To draw attention you gotta speak up, dress well, speak well and be a leader. Some of us do it better than others. Men must be tall and strong, with deep voices and a certain aggresive attitude. Women must be beautiful, highly confident and incredibly intelligent.
In the real United Nations conference, attention is important also, to win the big prize of being in the press the next morning. You don't see the intelligent people, the great ideas seem lost. What you say, who you insult and the horrible things you do is what counts. As one of the most prestigious delegations in WorldMUN for our honesty, ethics and preparation, our university's carry a huge burden. As an everchanging delegation, with new members every year, it is only mythical for us the new members to accept what comes ahead as little less than a gladiator fight with lions. The popolo is sitting high in their balconies looking up on us with great expectations, and we are nothing but fools. Fools with practice, yes, fools with weapons, yes. But fools hungry for justice.
It is justice what guides us, it is goodness and peace what we pursue. We're fighters against our wills and only when forced, we've practiced for peace but we've practiced for fights too.
On the other hand, there's me. I'm noble and good, aggresivity is not my goal but when I'm aggressive I'm assertive. Blunt is what I am foremost. My committee is the High Commissioner for Refugees and I chose it because it's sensible topics match the Angie in me, concerned with the wellbeing of every single little person on this earth. No person, no matter what small minority it may belong to, must be given the best conditions available as a human being, as a worker and as a family member. I'm always a bridge between countries, specially those hat don't get along too well, to gather up their ideas as long as they're not contradictive and life-endangering, and blend them in a single document, giving these countries credit at all times. I do not pursue the glory, but I know the glory may pursue me for my labor is crucial, and is what the spirit of the United Nations inspires in me.
