Doctor Who ~ I just can't like Martha!!!
When the third series of Doctor Who started this year, I was pretty apprehensive!!! Losing Rose at the end of series two was a particularly hard blow (for both the Doctor and myself!!!) and I was unsure about the casting of Freema Agyeman (similarly as I had been about the casting of Billie Piper). But where Rose had been a character I liked and I could understand why the Doctor grew to love her, with Martha I struggle to find anything likeable.
Considering that both Billie and Freema had both been given the same basic character template (gutsy girlie, In love with the Doctor...) I can't help but feel that Freema fails in comparison to her predessor and too a degree it has made this series of Doctor Who less enjoyable (bad times).
In fairness to Freema Agyeman, It may not be her that I do not like, maybe I would have been just as dissapointed had another person been cast but when I consider how much I disliked Billie Piper prior to Doctor Who (and how much I love her in that role) I very much doubt it!!!
Thank god for the return of Captain Jack (swoon!!!)
