The con is on, at least it was last night!

I adore Hustle! not only because it is slick, stylish and incredibly funny, but because it stars two of my favourite people in the whole wide world, Marc Warren and Robert Glenister.

I only started watching it from series three (last year), not because I hadn't wanted to, but because going back eighteen months or so all I ever did was work (bad times!). I then went back and watched the first two series on DVD and I was not dissapointed.

It felt like a long wait for the new series, but the wait was totally worthwhile as series four has been wonderful and quite possibly my favourite so far! (although I've not made my mind up about the new boy yet!)

My favourite character is Danny Blue. Danny is an arrogant cockney wideboy, oozing wit and charm, wonderfully played by Marc Warren. He is up there with Gene Hunt as one of my favourite fictional characters of all time, and like Philip Glenister being the only man who could ever play Gene Hunt, Marc Warren is the only man who could ever play Danny Blue.

I was sad to hear that Adrian Lester would not be appearing in series four (due to other work commitments) but to be quite honest it has made me enjoy this series more!!! Without Mickey Bricks the role of leader was up for grabs, and who else could it go to other than Danny Blue! Now Danny's role has always been a lead one (well he is the 'inside man') so no real difference there, the main difference has actually been Robert Glenister playing a much bigger role, and believe me this is a good thing!!! In last weeks series opener he played a camp make up artist ("I'm going to make you look like Orlando Bloom") and he was truly hysterical, and in last nights episode he was once again on top form.

I find myself unable to wait for the new episodes so I must admit I have been downloading the torrents from America (where the series started a few weeks earlier than in the UK) but being as I'd only record them when they air here and I'm definitely going to get the DVD's when they are realeased, I don't feel too bad about it!!!
