i was looking at the "what's new" news and found this story about birds attacking people in a small town in houston. it's hilarious. for all you people in houston, watch out. :P
Scary! Birds Attacking People in Houston
Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" has seemingly come true in one block of downtown Houston, Texas. The Associated Press reports that large black grackles are swooping down on passersby, attacking their heads, hair, and backs.
Why? Bird experts think the grackles are protecting their newly-hatched offspring. The attacks have been so frequent and vicious that authorities have closed off the sidewalk in front of the County Administration Building where the grackles, known for their large two-foot wingspans, are living in the magnolia trees. One person who works in the building described the birds as "going crazy."
The worst incident so far was when a grackle was about to attack a lawyer who shooed it away and then tripped and fell, injuring his face in the fall. He was treated for several cuts. AP also recounts the story of a woman who was attacked by several birds who pecked at her blouse and back, causing her to fall. She hit them with a bottle. Two women came to her rescue, and they were attacked by the grackles. The three only escaped by running into a nearby building.
