Automatic:

1. Submit (e.g. Youtube) flash video’s URL to a converter site.
   http://vixy.net/, which was busy when I tried it.
   http://zamzar.com/, which has recently become able to do this, and works like a charm, but you have to wait for an emailed URL for the ultimate download of ultimate destiny.
2. Choose output format, whether .avi, .mov, .mp3, etc.
3. Bob’s your uncle!

Semi-Manual:

1. Download (e.g. Youtube) .flv video file
   http://www.methodshop.com/gadgets/tutorials/youtuberip/
2. Change name of downloaded file:
   Filename is probably ugly.
   Also make sure it ends in .flv
3. Convert .flv file to something else, like .avi or .mov
   Mac OSX: http://www.isquint.org/
4. Extract or convert the .avi or .mov file to .mp3
   I dunno, try http://zamzar.com/ again
