While they are indeed awesome for that purpose, I'm not sure they are better than melons.

Now I always though that was a melon, because where are you going to find a lime that fits on a cat's head? Aside from in photoshop.

To be fair, I do not think it is less amusing when considered as a melon. In fact, more amusing, because it would mean that an actual cat wore an actual melon shell on its head.
