Starbucks' "Green Tea Frappucino"

Aug 09, 2005 12:39

On Sunday, while we waited for our Seattle Underground tour to start, we went to Starbucks (it was the only open nearby coffee place!), and I got the Green Tea Frappucino. Firstly, I was foolishly surprised by the ice. Mostly, I was astonished that anybody would describe it as "tasting like grass" (a typical complaint, in general, about green tea). I could scarcely taste the tea at all. It tasted like milky-sugar to me. Once it warmed up a bit, down at the dregs, I could almost taste green tea. Still very sweet, though. I don't understand why it reminded me of bananas, either, but it does perhaps explain why a "green-tea" milkshake I had at Aberdeen Centre actually did have mostly banana.
