B...Bobby?
[There's horror and traumatized fear in her tone.]
Zachariah?
Zhaneel! Varric...
[She isn't bothering to withhold her cries, or whimpers of pain. She had done something terrible. Horrible. She deserved to be punished. She deserved...]
I am... so sorry...
[Crying can be heard before she is able to switch off the audio. She doesn't

Aara!
[And he hisses in pain. Shouldn't jerk like that with healing ribs.]
What's wrong? What happened?

How... how do you feel?
[Now that she remembers, her worry grows exponentially. Pain tears at her chest as she remembers what she did to him. How she hurt him.
And he wasn't even aware it was her.]
I... I have something awful to tell you. [A small whimper escapes.]
You're not going to like it...
Reply
[Not going to like? Holy crap she must be hurt after all! Why wouldn't she tell him that?]
What's wrong? Are you hurt? Where are you? I can help help get you to the infirmary.

I... I am not hurt.
[A heartbroken pause.]
You were...
[She she was the one who hurt him...]

Yeah...but I got fixed up. I told you that.

[This is very painful for her. Give her a moment, will you.]
But now...
Zachariah... I--I remember. I-I did-- horrible things. I...
[A small, quiet sob. It looks like, no matter how many times she cries, her eyes refuse to give her a break while remembering this. She shuts off the audio before he hears too much.]
Reply
[When she shuts off the audio he worries even more. Dammit Aara don't make him hobble off looking for you.]

Zachariah...
[Her voice cracks.]
Are you still resting in the stable?
Reply
[Seriously Aara what's going on here?]
Reply
[Another whimper.]
I... I shall be right there.
[A short pause.]
Zachariah...?
If... if you do not wish to see me again, I will understand. It will be my fault.
[And now Aara is slowly making her way to the stable, dragging her feet and wondering if this is the last time Zachariah will willingly consider her 'friend.']

[Oh please tell him that nothing happened to her.]

[She was worried about him, after all. Before she was ready, Aara found herself standing in front of the stables. Taking a deep breath--swallowing all her worry and pushing the agony in her heart aside, she finally enters. When she calls out to Zachariah, her voice trembles.]
Zachariah? Are you here?
Reply
When he hears her calling Zachariah slowly makes his way out of the loft to where she's standing. His arm is still in a sling and his ribs are in bandages, although she won't be able to see that what with his shirt on.]
Yeah I'm here. So can you tell me what's going on now?

How are you feeling?
[Tentatively her hand reaches out, as if searching for and wishing to soothe all his aches and pains, but she realizes she already hurt him enough. Her fingers curl away and she brings her hand back, holding it to her with the other.]
I--yes...
[The bile is back in her throat. She finds it hard to breathe, and she cannot look at him when she speaks her betrayal.]
I hurt you. [Her words are hoarse and cracked.]
The one who hurt you... [She finally meets his eyes, and hot tears are streaming down her face.] ...Was I.
[She braces for it. The pain. The expression of anger and betrayal. Any second he would strike out against her. Any second he would tell her to go. To never show her face again. Her shoulders slump and she hangs her head, a rough sob rising from her chest. She backs away a step. Half ( ... )

What are you talking about? I never even saw you that day.
[He was attacked by two weird looking lizard things, not Aara. Hell he doubts Aara could even throw a punch. She's about as fearsome as a baby bunny.]

There is... something I have not told you. About my race. What I am.
[Aara does not want to do this, but Zachariah deserves an explanation. He will by far be the hardest person to tell.]
When I say I am angha... that means I am able to take another form. Actually... I should never have survived the transformation. ...I should be dead.
[She is throwing too much information at him at once. Swalllowing past her fear of rejection--the hurt she knows she now caused him, Aara shakes her head. She deserves such rejection. At the very least.]
I...can take the form of a white dragon. I was... sick, and attacked you. There is no excuse for harming a friend in such a way.
[She meets his gaze once more, wondering what she will see in them through her tears.]
I am sorry.
