"You give me a time and a place, I give you a five-minute window..."
Poker faced while waiting for the burglars to do their job, the Driver silently stares where his passengers entered and glance occasionally at his wrist watch strapped in the steering wheel of the car he either borrowed or stole.
Ryan Gosling played the role of the Driver, Hollywood stunt driver and mechanic by day and transporter by night. His impressive skill in driving brought him to Bernie Rose (Albert Brookes) who was persuaded by Shannon (Bryan Cranston)to invest his money to let the Driver race. He's detached from the outside world until he met Irene (Carrey Mulligan) and her son with a Standard Gabriel (Oscar Isaac), a prisoner.
Gosling's serene composure and intense stare made him perfect for the role of the Driver. He didn't deliver many lines in the movie, his expression and gestures are enough to convince the audience.
The movie is packed with a few but extremely remarkable action scenes and impressive electronic soundtracks such as "Nightcall" by Kavinsky and Lovefoxxx and "A Real Hero" by College feat. Electric Youth. Drive's director, Nicholas Winding Rafn, bagged the Best Director award in the Cannes Film Festival. Mulligan also won the Best Supporting Actress award in the Hollywood Film Award.
Drive will be in cinemas on November 9, 2011.
"Anything that happens in that five minutes and I'm yours no matter what."
