Welcome Stryder.

Smiles. New puppy safely home, and fall coming in (I love it so;) Benni just through his second week as a junior at SUNY, and doing well. He's switched his major to a four year degree bachelor's in Physics, rather than the accelerated 3:2 in Civil Engineering and that seems like a good choice, I think. He seems tired (is this the perennial college way?) but settled and very happy, and I am glad he's taking the extra time with the Bachelor's even though I tried not to say much here. Foibles of mothering through the twenties.

After yesterday's rains, today was a gift of early Fall. The skies cutting into that special blue they do so well in deep September, a few clouds tossed in just to highlight it, and the light itself coming close to the kind where even I can't take a bad picture... and just want to go soemwhere outside all day long with a picnic lunch and my boots, a pad and some pencils, and a dog by side and drift and draw.

He's sacked out by my left foot right now as I type. Judiciously placed between fan and foot. Big two days for him. New peoples and smells and no kennel, nor Beth. I wonder how life looks to a dog? And the beautiful cool night is drifting in through the backdoor.. the crickets backdropping the radio, the drone of the fans, the soft noise of sighs and fingers on keyboard.

The asters are blooming in the woods, and two late roses and the Autumn Clematis in the garden are throwing scent and silk into the air, and there's a keeshond in the house again. Smiles.
