Radio 3 is doing a broadcast of Edward II this Sunday!
Those of us in the States should be able to hear it too, via the website's "Listen Again" feature; it usually goes up shortly after the original broadcast and is available for a week.
So I am excited about this -- Edward II is an awesome play, my favorite Marlowe by far -- which is why I am going to pre-emptively ruin it for you all by mentioning that the lead actor, Toby Jones, is probably most familiar in fannish circles as the voice of Dobby the House Elf in the Harry Potter movies. AUGH MY BRAIN. (I mean, he was a perfectly fine house elf, and he actually did a good job as Aumerle to Sam West's Richard II in a recording I have (which is the only other thing he's done that I know), except that every time I've listened to it since finding that out, I've been all "OMG AUMERLE IS DOBBY EWWWWWWW." It's disconcerting listening to the York Family Follies while picturing Aumerle ironing his hands. So, y'know.
Anyway! That aside, I am looking forward to it.
