I've been squeeing a lot, lately, haven't I? I arrived home from class today to find that a package had arrived for me from the UK. See "current music" for details. *does the Happy Dance of Shakespeare Fixes*
I shall, of course, provide further details after I've listened to it all. It'll be interesting listening to a professional version, although I'm sure I shall spend far too much time afterwards contemplating my own performance and plaguing myself with feelings of inadequacy. ;)
(I will say it's weird listening to Richard's lines in a voice that isn't mine...)
The rest of the day was...not bad. We had a neat discussion on Antony and Cleopatra -- metonym, synecdoche, and royalty -- a lot of stuff that works well with the history plays, too, so that made me happy. I had more insightful comments before I got all distracted by the prospect of brand-new radio Shakespeare -- and Richard II to boot. ;)
I will say, btw, that the actress who plays the Duchess of Gloucester on this recording sounds just like Ro. It's quite unnerving.
