more yuletide
Since the archive is more or less open now, here's the story I got! It is Richard II fic, snippets of the development of Richard and Henry's relationship, not expressly slashy but not not slashy either, and there is some fabulous exploration of kingship and what it does to a person.
Also it has a lot of historical details that made me squee, and references to the royal touch and shiny shoes and meta about Shakespeare, and it makes me very, very happy.
I will do a preliminary Yuletide recs post tomorrow (well, later today after I have made myself get some sleep) because I'm not sure how much time I'll have for reccing before the reveal (which happens, like, right after MLA), and I've read a couple of completely amazing fics even just now that I absolutely want to squee about. But first I wanted to squee in public about the one written for me.
(Also, I am totally suspicious, in a good way, that my author is someone who knows me. It was the shoes that really enforced this suspicion.)
