Today's historical note...
(Haven't done one of these in a while, have I?)
On this date in 1367, Richard II was born in Bordeaux, France. One might remark that being born on the feast of the Epiphany is not a good idea for anyone who might be apt to be considered the Lord's anointed (even if he's technically a second son, at least at the time he's born). ;)
And I'd also like to wish everyone a happy Twelfth Night! Even if it's not a custom that's made it to this side of the pond. Pity, that. ;)
Anyway, in honor of the date, I just dropped a reasonably impressive amount of money on the Globe Twelfth Night and Richard II CDs (cf. the December 30 entry). Mmmmmmm...Shakespearean goodness... *drool*
