or like a school broke up each hurries to his home and sporting-place

So I'm continuing my BBC second tetralogy watching, as determined by poll on Friday. Tonight is 2 Henry IV, and I am very amused to remark that the actor playing Prince John of Lancaster looks like a very young Hugh Laurie. With a pageboy haircut. I can't remember if there's a resolution against pageboy haircuts on the Evil Shakespeare Overlord List, but it seems as though there should be.

(I've also noted that I don't like Jon Finch's performance as much this time out, although David Gwillim's, while still not particularly outstanding, seems less objectionable. Though I doubt BBC's Henry V will improve much upon review, as it really was resplendently awful. I may not watch it, as I own three other versions which are much better, but on the other hand, it may amuse me, in a masochistic sort of way. It's terrific Shakespearean MST fodder.)

I'm simultaneously kind of attempting to work on the Milton paper, since I have to present a version of it on Wednesday. I've written about three pages, which is respectable -- the version I'm presenting isn't supposed to exceed eight pages. But I do wonder why on earth I decided to write about Dryden. I don't even like Dryden. Although I suppose this paper will be all right, once it's finished. Or it will be very dull and unoriginal. Certainly nothing I've written as yet is particularly interesting, but maybe it will be to people who don't know much about the topic.
