So the Sci-Fi Channel is showing Dead Again, which I hadn't seen before despite the fact that it stars Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson, and Derek Jacobi. I can't begin to explain how weird it is to hear Branagh speaking with an American accent (though it's not weird to hear Emma Thompson speaking with one for some reason). Major cognitive dissonance there.
Though he's still adorable. ;)
Latest reading: cantos 5 and 6 of Book I of The Faerie Queene, and the first scene of Epicene. I'm still trying to enjoy the Spenser, but it's just...so...difficult... maybe I'll like it better when I get out of Book I? This is my third time through Book I and it's not really improving for me, though I'm constantly amazed by how much of it didn't stick with me the first two times (I got to the bit today where Una meets the satyrs and was rather alarmed that I hadn't remembered its existence at all, though my book has notes in it from the last time I read it, so obviously I must have found something noteworthy about it.) Epicene looks fun, though.
And despite all this reading I'm feeling decidedly in need of intellectual stimulation -- I think, actually, it's sort of a result of having been really isolated both offline, and, to an extent, online, so I'm thinking about all kinds of literary things but not really discussing them or even collaring people and lecturing them about them. And I really feel like I need to get out but don't know what I want to do...
