I can still recite it. It's part of family lore now. My dad is a bit like the King, no one can call him fussy, but, boy does he like his own way. My family has a whole lot of in jokes based around the Milne poems. It started with my grandmother, and I hopes of passing it on to my nephews and nieces.

My favourite is Half way up the stairs is a stair where I sit
There isn't quite another stair quite like it.
I'm not at the bottom
I'm not at the top
So this is the stair where I always stop.

James James Morrison's mother was clearly having an affair with King John. And the queen and prince (who disingenuously say they're sorry) had her whacked.
