I've been very consistently frustrated with Whole Foods. I only go there if I need to get something very specific, I am pretty sure it can only be found there, and I can't wait for the delivery if I order online. I also used their bakery three or four times over several years, and that worked well.

Same here, but do you know of another place to buy bulk foods like different beans, rice, etc.?

They are also the only ones in the area I know of who sell unrefined sunflower oil and unrefined hemp oil.

No, hm. We don't buy a lot of those. Let's look into other options online or possibly bulk food stores. Maybe there is something in Southern NH.

that would be great.

I suppose sometimes finding an ethnic store would be good, too -- I know asian/mexican ones may have a variety of beans.

Red Mill brand has a bunch of bean and rice options. It's prepackaged but very reasonably priced and very good tasting. I just checked them out on-line for you and they have even more there than in stores. I also highly-highly recommend their whole grain pancake mixes and bean soup mixes. http://www.bobsredmill.com/grains-beans-seeds/index3.html

Unrefined sunflower seed oil they sell in any Russian store, which you probably have in the Boston area. Nutiva carries lots of hemp products, which I've never purchased, but their coconut oil i incredible and the cheapest I found. http://nutiva.com/products/9_oil.php

Russian stores only carry refined sunflower seed oil, which doesn't taste nearly as good to me.

I'll look into red mill brand legumes, thanks.

their bean soup mix looks wonderful -- I'm tempted to order it right away, as well as some of their grains and legumes. Good thing I have someone to split it with -- need to check with them first.

Have you ordered from red mill website directly?

I've had their bean mix soup and I can tell you first hand that it is very-very good (I made it with onions, carrots, and a bit of potato). No, I've never ordered their stuff as I've never had to find them on-line until now. This brand is widely carried in MI, almost all grocery stores have Red Mill stuff in their health-food sections.

ditto. i used to go there once a year- for chestnut puree for Passover. Last year though, when it was $8/can and I needed 2, I balked.
