Federal government stealing equipment and masks from NY, MA and Michigan (at least)
Можно тысячу раз спорить о том, должен ли был Трамп и федеральное правительство сделать что-то раньше и подготовиться к вирусу, но то, что происходит сейчас нельзя назвать ничем, кроме просто намеренным убийством: то же федеральное правительство, что твиттами Трампа говорит, что работа штатов найти себе оборудование, просто напросто крадет это оборудование у штатов.
Уже несколько раз заказы Массачусеттса, Нью Йорка, Мичигана и, наверняка, других "синих" штатов (или штатов с губернаторами, которых Трамп не любит), просто пресекались федеральным правительством.

That is, until, it ran into a force seemingly as immovable as the novel coronavirus. “Force majeure,” Sudders said Friday, citing the legal clause that translates to “superior force” and typically allows parties to opt out of a contract due to unforeseen circumstances. In this case, that was the federal government exercising its authority over the state amid the pandemic, she said."
Куда эти вентиляторы и маски идут вместо этого -- неизвестно. Возможно, они будут выданы Флориде и другим штатам, которых Трамп любит, чтоб те были благодарны федеральному правительству. В лучшем случае, они будут разданы госпиталям под медийную фанфару. В худшем случае, они так и останутся сидеть где-то, не распределенные, пока люди умирают. И в это уже тоже нетрудно поверить, зная Трампа.
А люди будут продолжать заражаться и умирать.
President Trump repeatedly has warned states not to complain about how much they are receiving, including Friday during a White House briefing, where he advised Vice President Pence not to call governors who are critical of the administration’s response. “I want them to be appreciative,” he said.
