I first learned this back in the summer/fall of 1990 as a young Private. I remember the power of saying these words then, when we thundered them across the GA swamps in unison at our Drill Sergeant's direction. I have the acid ball in my throat as well now, thanks man! I read over this four times. I am thinking seriously right now about what I don't know (history wise) and I feel a sense of shame. You have inspired me to learn as much as I can about OUR history....and I suspect that the ball in my throat will grow and grow. That's a good thing. Shit, pretty deep for checking LJ after soooo long.
