Family Outing 11.02.2008 Kim Jong Kook Screenshot Translations
The second part of last week's Family Outing. Again, it's a short screencap translation of the very beginning.
Chunderella and Kim Stepmother make me cry from laughter.
Beware, there may be spoilers! It'll be funnier if you watch the whole thing first and just need a bit of a translation.
In lining up to find their sleeping positions, Yoo Jae Suk mentions that the #6 place is even worse today - it's in the hallway to the bathroom. It won't even be shown on camera, says Hyori. They line up as to how they feel like they'll place, and Kim Jong Kook goes to the 6th place modestly.
But they tell him to go back to first place. MC Yoo says all guests start there. Kim Soo Ro says, "You'll naturally come down from 1st place anyway."
Kim Jong Kook gamely agrees but wonders about Kim Soo Ro's pants. They're hanbok pants (for ordinary wear) and Hyori says that it seems Kim Soo Ro has given up on ranking high today.
Chunderella shows his tae kwon do skills and Kim Jong Kook acknowledges him.
But when asked to show the difference between how to fight for screen and how to fight in real life...Chun hee falls...
And Kim Jong Kook is too amused.
Chun Hee talks as if Kim Jong Kook is his rival.
But Kim Jong Kook shows how he is on another level with his boxing skills.
Another to showcase his talent xD
As the girls chose #s 5, 4, and 3, the doubtful facial expression of Kim Jong Kook's was priceless.
His facial expression as Kim Jong Kook loses the #1 spot. He does look slightly disappointed, but Kim Jong Kook has a tendency to hate failure.
The girls explain that they didn't choose him as #1 becuase the one who became #1 between them would have a hard time sleeping.
Hyori agrees. "Of course he's #1 in our hearts!" Chun Hee became #1 because he is easy to be with.
But that doesn't stop Kim Jong Kook from kicking out his burned sneakers. xD!!
They vote twice to choose the #1 female. MC Yoo says that Kim Jong Kook's choice has not changed.
But, he continues, "You're both beautiful, but unfortunately Kim Jong Kook doesn't have either one of you in his heart."
The girls are embarrassed and MC Yoo says it's because he is very close to Kim Jong Kook.
Kim Jong Kook slightly hits MC Yoo and says to him, "If you say that, what does that make me?!" But MC Yoo insists that he's right and that it's definite. "They're both not your style!"
Inside the room, MC Yoo asks if Kim Jong Kook is happy about the situation. Kim Jong Kook answers that's it's very nice having people on both sides.
MC Yoo can't believe he's 6th again. He asks Jong Kook why he doesn't talk about 'that'.
About when I gave you some spending money (while you were not on TV).
MC Yoo continues, "I thought you were going to naturally bring it up sometime."
Kim Jong Kook is commentless - though both Hyori and Daesung say, "Well, you're bringing it up yourself."
MC Yoo explains, "Because it looked like he wasn't going to!" Hyori wants to know how much money. MC Yoo says, "About $30 to take the taxi to go home." (I've used a simple $1 : ₩1000 exchange rate here.)
The edited text on screen says "While $30 is not a small amount, it's nothing to brag about..." But MC Yoo continues, "If I gave him $30 for a basic ride, that's a lot!"
"Anyway, Jong Kook is the kind of kid who doesn't take the money if it's a big amount."
Hyori wants to know why MC Yoo doesn't give them some spending money. MC Yoo answers, "How would I give you money when you earn more than I do?"
MC Yoo makes sure Kim Soo Ro is sleeping, tells everyone not to tell Soo Ro he had said this, and says that Soo Ro had 'shrunk' in front of Jong Kook. ('Shrunk' as in becoming meek and listening to what Jong Kook has to say.) Yoon Jong Shin agrees, "Soo Ro usually is in sporty clothing, but with Jong Kook here, he changed to hanbok."
Daesung looks at Kim Soo Ro and says, "Wait, his lips are slightly turned upwards (smiling)." So he's faking sleep!? MC Yoo laughs, "He usually snores, and he's not snoring. And he can't even move his body (because he's pretending to sleep). And he still has his socks on, and he's not one to wear socks to sleep..."
The lights are turned off and Jong Kook says "Goodnight Daesung." Daesung happily replies, "Yes. You too, sleep well."
MC Yoo is jealous. "Jong Kook! Only Daesung has to sleep well?"
Kim Jong Kook answers, "Go to sleep, quickly!"
MC Yoo obeys, but mutters, "And I had taken care of him while he was gone..."
I would just like to end with his sleeping face. XD Hope you enjoyed! The rest is just Chunderella and Kim Stepmother (Soo Ro) making a big mess (lmfao) and the rest wasn't that funny.
Unfortunately, I have to admit, the highlight of this episode was Chunderella and Kim Stepmother preparing breakfast. Chun Hee starts off with washing the radishes with soap.

Then he spills the rice...
And proceeds to pick it up.
Kim Soo Ro realizes belately that Chun Hee had spilled lots of rice, and Chun Hee says, "If we clean these with soap..." Which doesn't go too well with Kim Stepmother.
But Kim Soo Ro was not without his own mistakes. Indeed, he make a terrible mistake...
He had used... vinegar instead of oil! On the one and only duck egg they had!
"Do you smell something?" Chun Hee says he smells something sour.
The staff writer tell him, "Didn't you put in vinegar?"
Chun Hee has a blast. "I knew it! This smell! I knew you were just pouring it without regard!" And he rants on about how they had one ONE duck egg. Only ONE!
Don't smell eggs fried in vinegar, please...
But surprisingly... "Everyone! Putting vinegar in fried eggs is delicious!"
