This is a review from the latest Music Bank from 06.13. I usually watch 인기가요, but I couldn't let the 여름특집 pass.
Tablo is a horrible MC for all his brains. 김희철 was the best MC for a music show. Very good at impromptu that weirdo is.
I like watching a random music show once in a while to keep me updated with the latest songs without having to DL them and using up precious space on my now very limited HD.
I'm going to be thinking this is live (it sounds like it) and discuss it in that way.
Sigh. Korean music is always a copy of whatever else succeeded before. I'm sure everyone knows what groups, what songs, what artists I'm talking about.
Best live voices An artist is all about the voice, right?
1. 이정, SG 원어비 & VOS
2. 김현정
3. 이승기
4. 옥주현, Color Pink, Gavy NJ
5. 태양 (I know...!)
The first thing I have to say is, wow... Ok Joo Hyun looks a lot different. I feel like she looks different every time I see her... That plastic worked well with her... Why do they call Hyun Young the plastic queen... when Ok Joo Hyun is pretty close, too.
But hey, Ok Joo Hyun has a voice.
I actually like the song Honey. Though, it was probably a bad title choice because I'd think most people would think of JPY's 'Honey' instead. Though one point of interest. She pronounced 'radio', not '라디오' like it should be in Korean, but closer to the English 'radio'. Intriguing.
It's a far cry from those FinKL days.
She does look a lot better here than she does on her jacket cover, in my opinion. And look at that hugeass rock on her finger... Why?
Xeno. Never heard of her... She looks like she's 12... And what is UP WITH THAT facial expression?! She just looks unnatural! Her voice is okay, I concede. But while I understand that that weird facial expression and looking like a 12 year old might be done on purpose, it's annoying!
Only one comment on One Two.
Don't know if you can see that, but it says 작사 (lyricist): MC Mong. My first reaction: It has to be a good song. My second reaction: it is a good song. My third reaction: Wow, look at the 몽키's stock skyrocket. 몽키 uber! Uber 몽키!
(Sorry... bear with the bias.)
Kim Hyun Jung! My favorite female artist of all time. Truly! But 살짝 쿵 is...trot? What is she thinking? Her outfit is cute, though. Great voice...and ignoring the very first part of the song, it's quite catchy. Especially her air guitar! It reminds me of... Yamada Tarou... :Cough:
She's so thin...but her face is quite wide...so she doesn't have the thin impression at all. (LMFAO @ weird man in the back)
J-Walk... isn't there supposed to be two of them? I'm so confused. I was so sure it was TWO members from Seches Kies. Does that mean that guy did both parts by himself? No wonder it felt so ... repetitive and annoying at the end.
J-Walk always has some..stupid dance moves. Really. LoL. Please don't think I dislike them though... J-Walk is actually a favorite xD
! That is NOT 은초딩! Where is my 은초딩!? ?! ?!!!!!
THIS is my 은초딩!

Yeah! Gangsta Dooly!
<3 to the Lee Jung. He changed a LOT! I remember those days back when he wanted to be another 양동근 or a 김흥국. Grungy little boy back then.. But look at him now! Clean cut, well shaven, and classsssy!~ I like this Lee Jung a lot! xD
Though ... he still moves in exactly the same way. He does this little weird slight bounce... I see he hasn't gotten over that habit yet.
He has a great voice. What a perfect live. Just like Kookie. Lee Jung fits on the first five fingers of my favorite celebrities. xD May I mention that No. 3 is a dog?
If this is really live, Taeyang did really well. Maybe I wasn't expecting much... but he surpassed whatever I was expecting. Though he looks like a regular little kid who could have gone to my high school. (Aren't idols supposed to be hawt? Don't answer that, please.)
That has to be the most comfortable dance step I've ever seen.
Color Pink. Nice voices. Stupid group name. Sounds like another female SG Wanna Be.
Like Gavy NJ. They all have great voices, but they need some original songs.
Even SG Wanna Be doesn't sound like SG Wanna Be! ...It sounds like a square dance. That fiddle... It reminds me of gym from elementary school. Though you know that you can't go wrong with SG Wanna Be.
Beautiful Life from the SG Wanna Be and VOS special stage is a great song. (And Lee Minwoo wrote it! Wow! His stock appreciates, too!) Unfortunately I haven't listened to the actual version. Wow so many great voices in one go. And they look like they're having so much fun! All songs should be like this! (I fear the original version will not be as fun or powerful. T__T)
Lee Seung Gi. He grew up a lot; he's not a little boy anymore, haha. He learned a lot in 1박2일 and finally has a PERSONALITY! Okay, I can't say I kept up with him before so I know the difference, but it's a lot better now.
Well, of course he's not a little boy anymore... he's 땡자's daddy.
The Battle song, Step by Step (no screenie because they kept shooting steam and it was impossible to see them), reminds me of BigBang. Not to mention that the dance, and the clothes of the rappers. And I'm sorry. 'Step by step' should be always followed by 'Oh Baby'...
Epik High. Love Tablo's glasses.
Breakdown is such a pro-anarchy song. Or it just feels like it. How does one reconcile the nerdy Tablo and the one that goes all out during his performances? But wow, Epik High got the firework show of the night, huh?
Superjunior Happy. I've read complaints of this song, but what's wrong with it? It's stupid and light... and that's the point. It's not like they were aiming for a musical masterpiece. It's cute! And the lyrics are HILARIOUS. Absolutely HILARIOUS.
이렇게 맛없어도 되나요(되나요)
도대체 무얼 넣은 건가요(건가요)
차라리 내가 눈을 감고 만든게
더 나을 것만 같아요
Though I could take offense with it. What's wrong with a girl who can't cook? HMMM? Suju, what are you boys implying?!
LMFAO @ their parody. Oh these boys are definitely the best Korean boy band ever.
Though, what's going on with Kangin? He doesn't look like himself.
Wondergirls... Their dance move in the very beginning for So Hot looks stupid.
This was the best I could get... but yeah. Nothing really about them, but that they still sound ugh, but better! At least they improved, I guess. And they seem a lot more polite than their 'counterparts'.
This concludes my not so brief review. One thing I still don't understand is why those rappers have to spell their own names. I mean... okay, understandable if you're starting out. But... a lot of them are not.
I've also been obsessed with this:

I love Lee Junki. Always.
