I just finished my first semester at school. We have a full month before we go back for the winter semester. At first, I thought that was an unnecessary amount of time, but then after I sat down for a minute, I realized that it was a good thing.
While most of my time was taken by work and school, I have had a couple of fun times in the midst of it all. Halloween, now I cannot remember if it was actually on Halloween or not, but friends had a gathering and it was a great time to hang out with friends that we rarely see, especially since moving to the land of Far, Far Away... oops, I mean southern Michigan. We had such a good time on Halloween that we were inspired to have another gathering after Thanksgiving, which I refer to as "Friends Thanksgiving." That was better than I could have hoped it to be. I spent all day cooking with HMA and everyone seemed to enjoy the food. ;)
Even though I was kind of depressed about my birthday the day before (counting the years and gray hairs), and I was very ill (but not contagious), and I had three finals to study for that week, I still had a great time.
I am feeling much better now anyway. And even though I will probably spend the next month cleaning, since my home looks like a tornado hit it, and we are (along with the rest of the country) just making end meet, things are looking up: a gathering at our home on New Years Eve, all A's in all three classes, and my boss took me out to lunch today to tell me it's about time I got a raise. Yay!
