Upcycling/craft Christmas presents are a go! #1
So, I've decided to try & make homemade Christmas presents for my family this year - attempt #1 - frame into an earring display/holder:
needed:
A picture frame - remove the back, glass & any other bits on the back
some lace, coloured thread, string etc.
good glue (copydex is great!)
small nails/tacks & a hammer
pretty paper & varnish to cover frame ( I used an old music sheet)
any other pretty bits like beads, buttons etc. you wish to add
method:
cover now-on-its-own-frame-no-glass with glue, rip up bits of pretty paper & stick on. leave to dry then varnish. leave to dry.
tack your lace in with nails/tacks & hammer, leaving a little metal out so you can wind other threads around it. add other pretty threads with beads etc. as wanted. apply glue to each nail-fabric bit to secure it. leave to dry.
tie string around top two nails/tacks & hand up. add earrings!!
