Sleeping was like heaven, without the person that she wanted to be next to her…next to her. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed she had ever been in. It was massive, and fluffy. The second her head hit the pillow, she really did go to sleep, even though she was thinking about letting Angel come in the room with her. She couldn’t help it. She wanted to cuddle with him ( ... )

He heard her moving toward the door and turned just as she opened it. She looked... exquisite. Like always. But, she was dressed like she was going on a date, not out to hunt demons. He knew Buffy could fight in that sort of outfit, though, and he loved that she'd dressed up for their 'date'. He had to smile as he noticed she'd curled her hair. Putting her private bathroom to good use.

"Good morning," he returned, not pointing out that it was almost 7 in the evening. It might as well be 7 am, the way they lived.

"You ready to have some fun?" He offered her his arm in an old-fashioned, gentlemanly gesture. "I figured we'd check out the nest site, take anything out if anything's there, then... shopping? A little, so you know where the shops are, and have a few winter outfits." He had other ideas for their first date than a full shopping expidition, but she didn't even have a good winter coat, and she'd need it here. "And then... well, it's a surprise."

God, this felt wonderful, just to be with her. He couldn't stop smiling.

“Always with the chivalry, Angel. You’re really good at it.” She took his arm, and almost giggled like a little girl. She held it in, though. They really did need to check out the vampire nest. She had grabbed the piece of paper, and put it in her pocket. She didn’t know if she should grab weapons or not, so she had a stake in the band of her jeans, just in case. She had a feeling that whatever this place was that Giles was sending her would either bring up a whole bunch of questions or a dead end ( ... )

Angel glanced down at her. "I hope not. I don't want you to be distracted." He tried to sound casual, or teasing, but now that she brought it up, it did worry him. He'd seen Buffy fight when she was distracted. "Even if there is anything living there, if it's vampires, they're probably out," hunting, but he didn't say that. Hopefully, there really wasn't anything there, and Buffy could have a completely care-free night. And date.

Date. He couldn't believe they were doing this. He was slowly getting past the whole 'I'm in a relationship with Buffy' disbelief, and moving into, 'I can't believe we're having a normal relationship'. So, there was still disbelief, just, over something else ( ... )
