Yo, yo, yo...  So the muse has finally decided to hand me something.  It was grudgingly done with a disdainful pout and a contemptful flip of the hand but damn it, after three months she owed me!  That whore. *sigh*  Oh well.

Thanks to defyingnormalcy who saved my butt in a pinch. ♥♥♥

He’d been a photographer when the worlds made sense
.
There was something about preserving happy moments that had appealed to Bill. He had appreciated the details of composition, adjusting the light to flatter the picture and show the fleeting beauty of that perfect second at its best.

Despite not having held a camera in four years, Bill kept thinking of events in photo terms, saving those snap shots in his memory. He had thousands of instants saved in his mind, good, bad, beautiful, ugly or raw. It had been a gallery of their life since the bombs fell.

Laura starred in the most vivid photographs  -- a splash of life against the black backdrop of space. Everywhere he went, Bill could see Laura’s smile in his mind, her hands, the line of her neck, a swirl of her hair.  So many images existed both within him and for him only.

As he carried her to the raptor, Bill looked his fill, stretching their time by freezing every frame they had left. Knowing it was running out, Bill took as many pictures as he could, burned those pieces of Laura in his brain in a way that would out live her.
