Yesterday Mom and I went shopping for some school supplies. I don't mind shopping with Mom, she can be great to hang out with. But somehow I wish I'd gone shopping yesterday with Dad instead. He's the one who asks "Now, are you sure you know what kind you're looking for?" when I say I'm looking for something. Mom, on the other hand, will look at an item on my list, and automatically assume that I want something completely different from what I am looking for. Best example: One thing I had on my list was a dry-erase board for my/jenny's dorm door. (My old one was a POS, so I threw that out back in May.) Mom looked at that, and then kept pointing out huge bulletin boards and corkboards that would've taken up half the door - or not even fit on it at all.

Mom: Well, here's a corkboard you could use.
Me: No, Mom, I'm looking for a small dry erase board.
Mom: Well, this'll have the same function, won't it?
Me: This won't fit on a dorm door. It won't even hang on a dorm door.
Mom: I thought you wanted a board to put on your wall.
Me: I want a board to put on my DOOR. And it's gotta be small, so if Jenny has one, she can fit it on the door, too.
Mom: I still don't see why this wouldn't work.

*an hour later at Wal-Mart*

Me: See? Here - THIS is what I was looking for.
Mom: ...It's small. And you can't tack things up on it.
Me: Mom, you remember going through my dorm last year, and the year before. You remember seeing all the little boards like this one that the girls had on their doors, don't you?
Mom: Well, still, I thought you meant a bulletin board.

-_-;; Fortunately, that was one of only a few things she gave me a hard time on. I feel kinda bad since she was getting so irritated, but then again, Erica has the same kind of trouble with her, so I guess I shouldn't feel too guilty about it.

Today is, once again, one of my get-shit-done days. I paid a credit card bill, I'm getting my laundry done, and I still have to go up to the bank and then buy a few things up at Dominick's. When Mom gets home from work, she and I will continue our shopping adventures to get me some new clothes. Then I get to finalize plans for my trip out West, and clean up my room. Wheeee. And I gotta return to work tomorrow, fun fun fun.

But I have a pepperoni pizza in the oven and a soda in hand - it's all good. ^^
