I received this email yesterday:
Dear Christine,
I am pleased to learn from our Admissions Office that you have not only been admitted to York but that you have also expressed interest in a History major. We would be delighted to welcome you to the Department of History.
Blah blah blah... AWESOME right???
This afternoon, the following email was sent:
Dear Christine,
On April 17, we sent a welcome e-mail to students who had applied to the History program at York University. The e-mail indicated that not only had you expressed an interest in the program but that you had been admitted.
This is, unfortunately, not true at this point in time. We continue to be interested in your application and are still reviewing your file though no decision has been made yet.
We encourage you to keep checking the status of your application on
MyFile We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
Yours sincerely,
Office of Admissions, Recruitment & Marketing
York University
Uhh, thanks. It's a good thing I didn't get ridiculously excited and nearly shit myself when I opened the original email.
I think I should get in based on that alone.
