Xander was afraid to face Anya and the things she said about his friends and how they treat anyone outside their tight group. At least Anya was an adult about it all. Now Xander will have to face his life. Wonder if he will be able to deal.

A month of avoiding the inevitable would break any couple up, so it's no wonder that both Anya and Xander just give in. I actually like that Spike insists that he go deal with the poor woman. Avoidance wasn't getting either one of them anywhere.

I like, also, that Spike saw being sport watching buddies was little more than Xander needing a place to hang to avoid arguing with his girlfriend. It's really not a think friends would do.

I think Xander would have avoided everything until their 10th wedding anniversary if he could.

Honestly, this was bound to happen sooner or later. Xander wanted to avoid the issue and the drama but real life doesn't work that well.

“Oh Xander,” she sighed sadly. “Why couldn’t you have loved money as much as I do?”
Xander laughed. He couldn’t help it. Only Anya could say something so ridiculous yet so heart wrenching at the same time. He kissed the top of her head. “I guess you’re just special that way An’.”

I never really connected with Anya on the show, but she did have her interesting little quirks.
