Rabs, a fellow Vic Zhou and TVXQ fan, gave me a CD containing music videos and performances of Arashi, Kanjani 8 & NEWS. I enjoyed watching the videos and Ninomiya Kazunari of Arashi, along with Nishikido Ryo + Uchi Hiroki from both Kanjani 8 and NEWS caught my attention. Of course if you’re interested in someone you would want to see more of him (or in this case, it’s “them”) so I searched high & low for videos of them on the net. In all those videos I managed to find, there is this certain skinny boy who gets 50% screen time. That totally annoyed me the most! I mean Ryo is the hottest man in Osaka

but the fangirl in me is not THAT interested so my curiosity didn’t last long, after all TVXQ was very “fresh” then and of course I can’t get enough of Brian (Fly to the Sky) - I moved on like any other fickle fan would.

Bored with Korean dramas, I got curious and decided to try watching Japanese dramas for a change. Among the “popular lists” I started watching 1 Litre of Tears, Hana Yori Dango & Nobuta wo Produce.
Nobuta wo Produce: So a skinny guy and a buff guy is collaborating to make a rejected high school girl get popular. After watching a couple of episodes, things got more interesting… I learned that buff guy’s name is Yamashita Tomohisa aka Yamapi & the skinny guy was Kamenashi Kazuya. They are both under Johnny’s Entertainment, under 2 different groups (NEWS & KAT-TUN) but they are working as a temporary unit: Shuuji to Akira. Hmm, NEWS? I’ve heard of that before… Aaaah, Nishikido Ryo of 1 Litre of Tears is also from that group!

I fell in love with Akira. It was during Episode 7 of Nobuta wo Produce to be exact. When Akira said that he only want Nobuta to be his and that it’s painful for him to see that everyone else is starting to accept Nobuta. No, that line was from the ending of Episode 6 and everything was further explained on the 7th ep. but who cares? lol I became a Yamapi fan!

I was first introduced to Ikuta Toma through this post. Tomapi? what’s that? The blogger was ranting about TomaPi like she was on drugs… (Dear Helen, I didn’t know you when I read that post so please forgive me… I
you now and I know you weren’t on drugs back then
) My curiosity is killing me so I went and downloaded the show. First impression: He’s got the perfect nose that matches the perfect smile! And that he sings so much better than anyone else during that show.. Perfection is the word that best describes Ikuta Toma. I became an Ikuta Toma fan.

Daily dose of Yamapi
was provided~ I became a regular visitor of Umi P Rant. THEN, A Yamapi-thread at jdorama.com got closed for god-knows-why reason… Umi P Rant blogger mentioned in her blog that she wants a space so she can rant about Yamapi - the rest is history and Love Song Forums was born! There, I learned more about Yamapi, Toma, Tomapi and 4Tops. I became a TomaPi fan.
Everything else happened so fast that I can’t keep track of the dates anymore… But all I know and all I can say is that if not for Helen and Love Song Forums’ members… I would never know what TomaPi meant and there’ll never be a ToMaiPi.
Today, Ikuta Toma turns 23… to celebrate his birthday… as a fan, I volunteered to host a TomaPi fan site. To spread the love to old, current and future TomaPi fan, along with Helen, Karin & Sara ~ we present to you: Hanbun (半分).
