I got a letter from the Children's Hospital of Iowa. For my parents. To sign me up to be a "Children's Hospital of Iowa Champion." So my story can inspire other parents to bring their children to the Children's Hospital. It includes an application asking for my grade in school, "Child's T-shirt size in summer 2007," and "Child's Treated Condition."
Oh, my wounded ego.
On the other hand, I ordered some perfumes (one of the sample packs) from BPAL for the first time ever. :D I'm so excited. Though I think my choices might say a lot about me...and yes, though it may seem otherwise, I did choose them for the scents. Now we'll just have to see which ones I actually like.
Just for the record, "Whip" would be perfect for Zaknafein.
LEANAN SIDHE
Most of the Gaelic poets, down to quite recent times, have had a Leanhaun Shee, for she gives inspiration to her slaves and is indeed the Gaelic muse -- this malignant fairy. Her lovers, the Gaelic poets, died young. She grew restless and carried them away to other worlds, for death does not destroy her power. - W.B. Yeats
The name translates to “fairy, love of my soul”. A vampiric spirit and a dark muse, the love of the Leanan Sidhe is both a gift and a curse. These eerily beautiful Irish spirits drain the sanity and lifeforce of the men they inspire to artistic greatness. Her kiss infuses a man with depth of vision and feeling, otherworldly passion, and a sudden and ineffable understanding of the unending sadness that plagues mankind. Her perfume is a crush of Irish herbs and flowers, Gaelic mists, and nighttime dew.
LIGHTNING
Lightning slashing the midnight skies over the endless reaches of the ocean. The electric tang of ozone, marine notes, and a drop of sharp rain.
SHATTERED
A scent as sharp as glass shards, and as brittle as a broken heart. The formula came to me - quite literally - in a dream, and is named after, and created in memory of, the last poem that I ever wrote… almost ten years ago to the day. A blend of white champagne notes, grapefruit, lotus, slivered mint and crystalline aquatic blooms.
(Okay, most emo description ever, but I think it sounds like a pretty scent.)
TEMPEST
A crisp ozone-tinged breeze. The scent of the first gentle rain before the storm.
DUBLIN
The scent of misty forests, damp alder leaf, and the gentlest touch of white rose.
HELLCAT
A soft, sensual, luxuriant blend with a wicked bite: hazelnut, buttercream, honey mead, rum and sweet almond.
Bwhaa. >:D ...now hopefully they won't take forever to get here.
