SUMMARY: Dreams, (almost) everyone has it... And (almost) everyone is affected by it...

Real Reason (Matsuda ShotaxToda Erika)

“Hmmm… I don’t believe you,” Erika suddenly declared.

She and friend and former co-star, Matsuda Shota, were at a café somewhere in Akihabara where the two of them had decided to meet up when the later called her up for drinks. Truth be told, it had been quite a while since the two of them had gotten together, both of them having been quite busy in their own careers. In fact, other than split-second meetings at the hallways of variety shows or entertainment programs that might have scheduled their separate interviews at the same time, it may just be the first time they’ve seen each other again after their promotions for Liar Game’s movie.

But they did remain in contact, a text message here, a phone call there; they remained in touch with talks of getting together some time. So when Shota actually mentioned that he’d want the two of them to meet-up, they really did.

Except that when Erika saw Shota sitting there at the café looking somewhat disturbed by something, and then his face beaming when she called his attention, she couldn’t help but be curious, not to mention feel somewhat giddy over the reaction, butterflies having a frenzy in her stomach.

And those same butterflies fluttered all the more when she asked him the real reason behind the invitation and Shota said something about “catching up”.

“What? Why?” Shota asked in surprise, a red hint visible high up his cheeks.

“I don’t know, it just feels weird,” Erika shrugged. “I mean, for over a year, we were good with text messages and phone calls, and then all of a sudden, you say you want to meet up. It’s not your birthday, and it certainly isn’t mine, so I’m thinking that maybe there’s something going on that you want to tell me about.”

Shota ended up looking at her in amusement before he shook his head and raised his tea cup to his lips and said “You are still so chatty after over a year” before drinking it up.

Erika simply chuckled at the comment, all too aware that the guy wouldn’t be answering her question straight out. Thinking of changing the topic before their meeting goes sour; she asked “So, how was the filming for the new movie?”

“It’s okay,” Shota shrugged, carefully putting down his cup. “Tabe Mikako-san is a good actress.”

“Oh,” Erika smiled, a dreamy, reflective look, going over her face as she smiled. “It must be fun. I always had fun with you guys.”

“So why did you turn the project down?”

The hurried way Shota asked the question, plus the seriousness and worry written all over his face, snapped Erika out of her dreamy state. Somehow, she has this feeling that he’d been itching to ask her that question.

“There was a conflict with the scheduling,” she admitted. “I’d have loved to jump in again if it weren’t the case.”

“Oh” was all Shota really, actually said, but the easing of his shoulders, coupled by the fact that a smile, a relaxed smile as opposed to the practiced smile she’d seen him use, rose to his lips, said a lot.

“Wait,” Erika chuckled. “Are you telling me you thought I just didn’t want to be part of Liar Game anymore?”

“No! Of course not!” Shota immediately replied, a lot more energetic that he’d been just moments ago. “I, I was just curious.”

“Yeah, right,” Erika snorted. “Now that you’re almost half-way through filming? It can’t be just that! Now spill Matsuda Shota-kun or else you’re in trouble.”

Shota narrowed his eyes at her in amusement before he admitted “Fine! I had this weird fear that you didn’t accept because you just didn’t want to work with me anymore.”

“What?!” Erika exclaimed in surprise. “What made you think that?”

For a split-second, it looked like Shota wasn’t going to say anything but then he was looking at his cup and saying “Well, if truth be told, I had a dream about you.”

“You dreamt about me? !” Erika couldn’t help but exclaim, the butterflies in her stomach fluttering once again.

“It was like this,” Shota immediately started explaining. “I saw you in my dream, and well, in that dream, you told me that you didn’t accept Liar Game: Reborn because you didn’t want to work with me ever again. It’s just, I don’t know, I didn’t feel good about that. It felt like you didn’t want to see me anymore.”

Word per word, as Shota gave his explanation, Erika found herself smiling.

“Aww, Shota-kun,” she said when Shota’s explanation was over. “Sooner or later, we are both going to have to work with each other again. Besides, it’s not like we only can meet because of work, right? We can always got out,” she told him with a smile.

“Would you like to go out with me?” Shota, out-of-the-blue and very unexpectedly, said.

Erika blinked a couple of times, and she even had to pinch her arm to make sure she was awake, before she ended up exclaiming “Did Matsuda Shota just ask me out?”

Judging by the blush that suddenly crept to Shota’s cheeks and ears, and the surprised look in his face that plainly screams ‘Did-I-just-say-that-out-loud?!’, Shota wasn’t planning to say those words either.

But after a moment of reconsidering, he ended up shrugging and saying “Well, would you?”

Erika narrowed her eyes on him, trying to judge if he was joking or not. And then she felt those butterflies start fluttering in her stomach again and she could not say that she isn’t excited at the idea, especially with her heart throbbing like she just ran a mile.

In the end though, she simply said “You’re a surprisingly gutsy person, you know that?”

Shota smiled. “Well, you know me,” he chuckled as both of them raised their own cups to their lips, both of them too, completely aware, that she didn’t say ‘No’.
-----THE END-----

and remember my other previous post?
the one where i said that i now like Fujigaya Taisuke and that i'm going to be writing on him?
well, i found myself writing and i came up with this... lol

TITLE: Kitayama's I Saw That Moments
CHARACTERS: Kitayama Hiromitsu, Fujigaya Taisuke, Oomasa Aya
GENRE: RL
RATINGS: PG
DISCLAIMER: The only thing i own in this story is the plot...
AUTHOR'S NOTE: four drabbles set during Misaki Number One shoot, may or may not be treated separately, and written because i felt like it...
SUMMARY: Kitayama Hiromitsu had the privilege of seeing numerous things at the set of Misaki Number One... whether Fujigaya Taisuke likes it or not...

“So this is how it feels filming, huh?” Hiromitsu exhaled as he plopped down on the sofa at their shared greenroom for Misaki Number One.

Taisuke, who was already reclining on the sofa before the older idol came in, moved over, huffing in annoyance at the distraction.

“I was sleeping you know,” Taisuke growled.

“Yeah,” Hiromitsu nodded. “But you always wake me up when I’m sleeping so,” he ended up shrugging.

“But that’s because you’re always sleeping,” Taisuke complained. “I haven’t had any sleep yet!”

“Eh,” Hiromitsu frowned, turning to look at the guy who had just sat up. “But I saw you so energetic earlier! You were even chatting non-stop with Oomasa-san and Ohno (Takuro)-san, me and Ichikawa-san couldn’t keep up.”

“That was because we were on set,” Taisuke groaned, ruffling his hair with his own hands.

“Aah…” Hiromitsu nodded, before he ended up smiling. “It’s true that it’s the first time I saw you on a drama set,” he added in an almost singsong tone.

With an eyebrow raised (though hidden by his long bangs), Taisuke turned to him. “And?” he prompted.

“It’s also the first time I saw you interact like that with a girl,” Hiromitsu continued smiling. “Oomasa Aya-san.”

“Aya-chan?” Taisuke exclaimed in surprise. “We were just talking.”

“Aya-chan?!” Hiromitsu repeated in amusement, noting the honorific used. “Wow, you’re fast! We only just met her!”

Hiding a hint of red that rose to his cheeks, Taisuke exclaimed “I was just being friendly!”

“Oh, you are,” Hiromitsu nodded patronizingly before he added with a grin “No one can resist the perfect smile huh?”

“Shut up!”

-----

“You know, for the past few days, I sometimes wondered why the writers seemed to always put you and Oomasa-san together,” Hiromitsu started conversationally as he and Taisuke stood in front of the vending machine.

“Huh?” Taisuke replied distractedly, most of his attention still focused on choosing what to buy.

“You and Oomasa-san,” Hiromitsu repeated. “They always write you two together for the scenes.”

“What are you talking about?” Taisuke frowned, finally straightening up to punch in his choice. “The five of us are almost always together, not just Aya-chan and me.”

For some reason, Taisuke’s response only made Hiromitsu grin. “Yeah, but she’s always beside you, always!”

“So?” Taisuke frowned in confusion.

“So, I just realized one possible reason!” Hiromitsu declared proudly as he punched in his pick and waited for it to fall. By the time he straightened up and turned to his friend, Taisuke already had his ‘I’m waiting’ look. “Chemistry.”

“What?!” Taisuke blurted out.

“Chemistry,” Hiromitsu repeated. “You two have perfect chemistry. You can pull off the lovers look.”

Taisuke was speechless for a while before he snorted. “Baka!”

“I mean, think about it!” Hiromitsu continued as though the younger guy had not just, sort of, berated him. “She’s pretty, you’re pretty. You two would really end up looking very pretty onscreen!”

“Oi!” Taisuke exclaimed, extending a hand to hit the older idol in the head, something Hiromitsu had easily ducked. “I liked you better when you were always sleeping,” Taisuke growled.

Hiromitsu, showing off his cutesy smile, chuckled then said “But this is fun!”

-----

“I saw that~” Hiromitsu announced in a singsong tone the moment he entered the showers in their greenroom. The greenroom, the particular one they were using for Misaki Number One only had two showers but considering that only four people are using the greenroom (and not the usual seven both idols are used to) it was certainly an improvement, especially since the other two occupants had already headed home.

Taisuke, who had entered the showers earlier and was therefore half-way done, snorted at his friend’s declaration.

“Saw what?” he grunted although he didn’t really have to. After all, for the past few weeks they’ve spent on set, Hiromitsu would make non-stop remarks about him and Oomasa Aya. It wasn’t annoying, yet, and he should perhaps be grateful that Hiromitsu hadn’t said anything about that to the rest of Kisumai yet, or so he hopes.

“Just because we were supposed to be watching Ichikawa-san and that cute girl doesn’t mean I didn’t see a thing,” Hiromitsu continued vaguely and Taisuke couldn’t do anything but roll his eyes. With his back still turned to the guy, a part of hi registered the older idol had already started showering too.

“What are you talking about?” he snorted as he tried to rack his brain on what could Hiromitsu have possibly ‘seen’.

They were shooting all the piano scenes that day, from when they were just stalking their friend to find out his secret up until the time he could play a piano piece completely. And for the love of God, he couldn’t, anywhere, detect what Hiromitsu might have ‘seen’ again.

“You’re getting a bit too comfortable with Oomasa-chan under you, don’t you?” Hiromitsu replied mischievously.

For a split second, Taisuke was left confused until it hit him. During the part when they were still stalking Ichikawa’s character and they found him at the piano room, the scene where the four of them, plus Karina eventually, were peeking through the glass parts of the door, had Aya right beneath his right arm. And to be honest, it was a bit too close for comfort because, well, he’s a he and she’s a she. But after the awkwardness of the first shot, they sort of reached a mutual understanding when they caught each other’s eye and they both ended up smiling.

It must be what Hiromitsu was referring to.

Snorting, more because he didn’t have anything to say in response, Taisuke turned off the shower and prepared to leave.

Before he could leave though, he heard Hiromitsu said “Ah! I just remember it’s almost valentines! I wonder who she’d give her valentines to…”

Shutting the door loudly in his wake and hearing Hiromitsu chuckle because of it, Taisuke couldn’t help but growl because really, he’s just a tad bit curious too.

-----

“Fujigaya-kun, thank you for taking care of me!” Aya had said energetically as she bowed low the moment she cornered Taisuke at the hallway, a small pink box wrapped with a golden ribbon in her extended hands.

Taisuke almost couldn’t believe his eyes.

He had seen Aya going around early in the morning when he came in, a paper bag in hand, giving out chocolates to some of the staff and the other casts. He had personally seen her give Hiromitsu a red box just before they all went to lunch. And really, he had already considered the possibility (even though he did wonder after Hiromitsu wondered about it aloud in the shower) that Aya would end up giving something to every male in the team for Valentines day.

And really, he isn’t very picky on those kinds of things but everybody means everybody and part of that everybody is him!

But as the day progressed and the shooting was almost done but one scene, with Aya being always around him and quite literally standing right next to him but never, ever, giving him anything, he had resigned to himself that maybe he’s not getting something from the particular girl. And although he already had Karina’s, who, like Aya, gave some chocolates to every male in the team, along with some from the other girls in the cast, he somehow feels bad about Aya forgetting him.

And it hurts too, not that he’s going to tell anybody especially Hiromitsu, anything about that.

This is why he couldn’t help but really be surprised when, on his way to the vending machine, he turned around and saw Aya. And considering that it isn’t his first chocolate, he, himself, was surprised when he felt his heart jump in anticipation, followed by an erratic beat.

“Ahm, thanks,” he forced himself to say as he took the box prompting Aya to straighten up, some part of him noting that the box was tad bit bigger than the ones the others received, his lips displaying his trademark (that according to Hiromitsu is his perfect) smile. “I almost thought you’d forgotten about me,” he added jokingly, hoping to ease the erratic beating of his heart.

He was surprised to see though that his joke prompted Aya to go red before she murmured “You’re the last person I’d forget.”

Taisuke, honestly, wasn’t sure if he heard it right and he didn’t have the chance to make sure because Aya, with her face still burning, cried “Happy valentines Fujigaya-kun!” before she ran off.

Blinking furiously, Taisuke had just about taken in what had happened when he heard someone clearing his throat from behind.

It was almost with a groan that he turned around and saw Hiromitsu, and judging by the juice can in the guy’s hand, he came from the vending machine.

“I saw that,” Hiromitsu grinned.

“Shut up!”
