it's been a long-standing project i had ever since i joined the Help Japan auction a couple of months ago...
why only now, you ask?
because like i said in my previous posts, real-life has been daunting as of late...
and i'm still trying to catch up with what has happened in my life...
anyway, long story short, i only had time to actually finish things up so here is the fic...
or fics... =) enjoy!

TITLE: Plans
CHARACTERS: Ohno Satoshi, Sakurai Sho, Aiba Masaki, Ninomiya Kazunari, Matsumoto Jun, Becky
PAIRING: Aiba/Becky
RATINGS: PG
Genre: RL
DISCLAIMER: The only thing i own in this story is the plot...
SUMMARY: It was in celebration of the release of Becky's new album. Or at least, it was supposed to be for that.
Author's Note: for astrangerenters , her fic request for the Help Japan Auction... sorry that it's really late... and i hope you like it...

“This is bad Sho-chan! This is bad!” Aiba cried in worry as he bustled all over his kitchen with his head tilted to the side so that both his hands are free as he attempted to cook something up AND talk to Sho on the phone at the same time. “I’m missing a few ingredients!”

“I told you to cook something you’re sure you can cook!” Sho said from the other line.

“But I can cook this!” Aiba cried back. “The problem is that I just realized I’m missing some key ingredients!”

“Why are you telling me?!” Sho exclaimed, his voice showing the panic visible in Aiba’s face as he continued to work on the kitchen while stealing glances at the living room through the small crack of the door he had left. “I’m the last person in Arashi who can cook!”

For a split second, Aiba forgot his worries as he ended up chuckling at those words. It’s not that he disagrees with what his friend and group mate had to say, because he completely does. It’s just that it’s the first time Sho actually said those words out loud.

“Because this is partly your fault!” Aiba told the older guy.

It was in celebration of the release of Becky’s new album.

Well, it was SUPPOSED to be that, or at least, it’s what Aiba had in plan. Statistically, Aiba’s plans usually and normally come into fruition, aided AND abetted by four other guys who may or may not have fallen prisoners to Aiba’s puppy dog eyes. That is, even if said plans aren’t among the most logical, or normal, plans out there. And even if the plans somehow end up failing, it still wouldn’t look that way because he is Aiba Masaki and that alone could help save the day.

Aiba, after all, is a Miracle Boy.

Plus, he has with him four other men who can and will likely help him out.

Nino had suggested, when they found out, that it’d be better if he just do the Sakurai Sho-style, meaning that he could just reserve a spot at an exclusive restaurant in the city for them, something that Jun agreed to, pointing out that he already has his hands full with their shows, their recordings for their own album, his shootings, and their concert meetings. Ohno even went further and said that it would be something Becky wouldn’t be expecting from him, and that, if anything convinced him that it may actually be a good idea.

His biggest worry, after all, when coming up with something for him and his girlfriend of two years is coming up with something that would surprise the woman.

One of the things he had always admired in Becky is her imagination, no matter how wild and far it gets. He had always found it cute whenever he hears her, back when he still hadn’t realized that he liked her more than just a co-host, talking with Aoki or some of their other co-hosts during Tensai! Shimura Doubutsen about what she would imagine her future boyfriend would do in certain situations. Her descriptions of the situation would often change too, depending on whatever condition that she or the others would change. Shimura Ken had described her as “the woman who imagined every scenario already”.

Little did he know that that certain characteristic of hers would be giving him trouble soon enough. After all, the woman who had imagined every scenario already would be very difficult to surprise.

And that was the reason why he had heeded the advice of four men, because Sho had agreed with the other three, and asked Sho for a good restaurant he could recommend him.

As it turns out, he agreed with Sho’s choice for them, and Sho, being Sho, had even called in a reservation for him already. And even with the slight delays in their recordings, things were going according to plan.

“Sho-chan?” Aiba asked when for a few seconds he heard nothing from the other line. Putting down the ladle in his hands, he held his phone closer to his ear only to realize that he wasn’t talking to anyone on the other line.

Sho had ended the call.

With his eyes growing large in disbelief, Aiba was just about to exclaim out loud before he remembered that he wasn’t alone in his apartment. Stealing a quick glance to the living room again to make sure that the other occupant of the apartment had not heard anything, he quickly dialed another number.

“What?” Nino asked curtly from the other line the moment the ringing stopped.

“Hello Nino-chan!” Aiba greeted. “What are you doing?”

There was silence on the other line for a few seconds before the younger guy exclaimed “No! Whatever the problem is, I am not helping you!”

Aiba gasped. “How did you know I have a problem?” he asked in surprise.

“Because you’re supposed to be in a dinner right now,” said Nino. “And you wouldn’t be calling if there weren’t any.”

“Ah, as expected on Nino-chan!” Aiba chuckled a bit. “You do know me a lot.”

“Yeah,” snorted Nino. “And I know that by the sounds of it, you’re in your kitchen, cooking, aren’t you?”

“Yeah…”

“Why?”

With a small chuckle, Aiba replied “Actually, I think this is partly your fault.”

Earlier…

“Isn’t that weird?” Becky asked just as Aiba’s car entered the restaurant’s parking area.

“Huh?” Aiba asked distractedly, his eyes still busy looking around for a space to park his car on. It was, after all, a weekend, and therefore, a lot of patrons were around. It was lucky that Sho even managed to get them a slot.

“That car over there,” Becky pointed out.

Following her hand, Aiba saw that she was talking about one of the cars they just passed, a black one in particular, the one where the driver’s side window was down and something suspicious poking out of the window.

“Is that… Is that a camera?” Becky exclaimed a few seconds alter, turning to Aiba in surprise, a hint of fear in her eyes just as Aiba’s mind digested what that object was, and what it possibly means.

“We’ve got to get out of here!” he could only say.

“How is it my fault that there were paparazzi’s in that restaurant?!” Nino exclaimed after Aiba told him the story. “Shouldn’t you be blaming Sho-chan for that?!”

Aiba grinned although Nino can not see. “Well, Sho-chan didn’t know that there would be photographers there. Besides, if you think about it, it’s most likely your fault that those guys are all over Tokyo’s restaurants!”

“What?!” Nino exclaimed in disbelief.

“It is!” Aiba reasoned. “Ever since those rumors about you and Sasaki Nozomi-san dating, I’m guessing those photographers started looking around for proof!”

The small gasp he heard from the other line was enough for Aiba to start giggling again. “Which reminds me, are you two really dating?”

“I am no talking to you!” Nino simply declared and Aiba knew before the younger guy even did it that Nino was going to end the call. He ended up laughing when he really did.

He was still laughing when he heard the familiar female voice calling from the living room.

“Masaki-chan, is everything all right?” Becky asked and Aiba was reminded why he’s in the kitchen in the first place.

He had told Becky to sit back and relax in his living room as he prepared for their meal, something to make up for the failure that was his plan. He had insisted that she not go to the kitchen, especially since he wasn’t even sure what he’d be able to come up with.

“Ah, yes!” he called back as he turned to the stove again and grimaced at the sight.

He was thinking of making mabo tofu for their dinner. And he’s halfway done already too, until he realized that he had not yet added miso to the mix and was in fact out of that particular ingredient.

“Dinner’s almost ready!” he still called out.

“Are you sure?” Becky asked. “You don’t need my help or anything?”

“No!” Aiba cried, almost guiltily. “I’m totally fine here. Just take a break there, okay…” he added before scrambling for his phone again to typing an email and sending it.

The message read: Ohchan~ Help!

He wasn’t really expecting a reply from the guy, the reason being that he must be in a boat already by now (which is also why he didn’t call him). This is why he had placed his phone on top of his refrigerator as he looked inside for something he could add to his dish to make it a bit more edible.

A few moments later, he could only sigh in defeat. There’s nothing he had in stock that would help improve his mabo tofu, which, at the moment does not really taste any good at all, even by his experimental standards.

As he looked around for something, anything, to make something out of, his phone suddenly rang, startling him enough that he hit his head on the edge of the fridge.

“Hello?” he said, answering the phone as he rubbed his head.

“This better be a real emergency or all of you are dead!” he heard Jun declaring from the other line.

“Jun-kun!” he exclaimed loudly. “I tried calling you earlier!” he gushed. It was actually Jun who he called before he contacted Sho but their youngest weren’t answering his calls.

“I just received a harassing phone call from Sho-kun and an email from Nino-kun,” Jun said as though it was already an explanation and perhaps it was. “First off, you should have not cooked mabo tofu, whether you have all the ingredients or not.”

“Why not?” Aiba whined, momentarily amazed that Jun knew he cooked mabo tofu when he didn’t even tell Sho that he’d be making that specific dish.

“Because!” Jun exclaimed. “It’s a date and mabo tofu is not a date food!”

“Ah!” Aiba cried, realizing what the guy meant. “Oh yeah, you’re right! I remember now though, I have pasta!”

“You don’t have time to cook pasta right now!” Jun exclaimed, his voice showing a hint of exasperation.

“But we don’t have anything to eat!” Aiba whined.

“Then order take out!” Jun said.

“Take out?” Aiba repeated.

“Yeah,” came the answer but it wasn’t from the other end of the line. It came from behind him, from the door leading to the living room, where Becky is standing at the moment, looking at him with warmth and amusement in her eyes.

“Ah!” Aiba exclaimed, his eyes immediately looking around the mess that was his kitchen and completely forgetting about the phone in his hand. Before he could say or even think of anything to say though, Becky chuckled and shook her head endearingly as she stepped towards him.

“You know, you should have told me about this earlier…” she told him, her eyes dancing in amusement, especially as she stopped next to the stove and saw the disaster of his supposed mabo tofu.

“Ah…” Aiba started, smiling awkwardly as his hand reached out to scratch the back of his neck.”I wanted to prepare everything for us tonight. To make it memorable.”

Becky smiled, stepping closer to him again. “Well, you’re here, I’m here, it’s already memorable enough for me.”

Aiba blinked for a few times, searching for something to say, but all he could do was smile.

And then Becky said “So, what take out do you like?”
-----

“I’m really sorry about tonight,” Aiba said.

The two of them were already cuddling in his living room watching some late night show, having just finished eating the food they had ordered, the cleaning up of the mess at the kitchen having been completed before their order arrived.

“Hmm?” Becky asked, looking up from where her head was resting against his chest.

“This wasn’t what I had planned for tonight,” Aiba explained.

Becky chuckled. “I told you, as long as we’re both here, I’m good!” she said, touching his cheek lightly.

Aiba couldn’t help but smile as he looked at her.

“Oh,” Becky said suddenly, as if just remembering something. “Please tell Ohno-kun, Sho-kun, Nino-kun, and Jun-kun thanks for earlier.”

“Huh?” Aiba asked in confusion and surprise.

Becky laughed. “Come on, I know you were calling them earlier! Who was the last one on the phone earlier anyway?”

“Jun-kun,” Aiba admitted sheepishly.

“The one who said something about take-out?”

“Yeah,” Aiba nodded, before his eyes narrowed playfully at her and asked. “Hey, how long have you been listening outside the kitchen door anyway?!”

“I heard something hitting something!” Becky chuckled and Aiba remembered that he did hit his head on the side of the fridge when Jun suddenly called. “That’s why I checked it out. That was the extent of what I heard.”

“Really?” Aiba confirmed.

“Of course!” Becky smiled.

“So what were you doing here the whole time?” Aiba asked.

Becky turned to him and grinned before pushing herself off of him and reaching out for something under the center table. It was only until she withdrew her hand did Aiba realize what she picked up. It was something who’s existence she shouldn’t have known.

A notebook. Or to be more specific, his drawing notebook back when he was younger.

“I found this earlier,” Becky said, an amused smiled on her face. “I didn’t think you were a worse drawer than you were when you drew me that time in your show! I guess I’m wrong!”

“Hey!” Aiba pouted playfully. “I’m not that bad!”

Becky chuckled. She was just about to open the notebook again when Aiba grabbed it out of her hand.

“At least I’m better than Sho-chan!” he pouted.

Becky laughed. “I find it kind of cute, really!” she said, looking him straight in the eyes.

Before Aiba could even say anything, they were both startled when his phone suddenly alerted them of incoming messages, two actually.

Reaching out to get his phone on the table, he opened the email while Becky looked over. They were both from Ohno. The first one was of the guy taking a snap shot of him and some fish that looks like he just caught. As usual, there was a really big smile on their eldest’s face.

“What’s that for?” Becky asked in amusement.

Remembering that he did ask the older guy for help earlier, Aiba chuckled. “I think he’s saying good luck,” he told her as he went on to open the next message which was another snap shot.

What they saw made him both amazed, amused, and a bit embarrassed.

It was a snap shot of a drawing by Ohno that, by the looks of it, seems hastily drawn while onboard a moving boat, of what appears to be him and Becky. That had caused the amazement part. The amusement and embarrassment part was because of what the drawing portrayed. It is of him and Becky, holding hands as they leaned towards each other, their lips pouted for a kiss.

Next to him, Becky was chuckling.

“As expected, Ohno-kun is really good in drawing!” she said.

Thinking that it was another dig at him and his artistic abilities, Aiba turned around to face her with a pout only to be silenced by what happened next.

Becky leaning in for a kiss.

It was just a quick one, a really quick one, but it completely made Aiba’s mind blank.

“Thanks for tonight!”
-----FIN-----

that, meaning the one above, isn't actually the one i was thinking of writing originally.
well, it was but i had to tweak the premise a bit...
after all, it did take me a really long time to write it down.

and since, like i said, i took quite a while to deliver her fic, here's another one to make up for the lateness of it...
and i hope it's all right... =)

TITLE: Pet Shop (Love at First Sight)
CHARACTERS: Yamaguchi Tatsuya, Kimura Takuya, Aiba Masaki, Ninomiya Kazunari, Matsumoto Jun, Aoki, Sayaka, Becky
PAIRING: Aiba/Becky
RATINGS: PG
Genre: AU
DISCLAIMER: The only thing i own in this story is the plot...
SUMMARY: she fell in love in that pet shop. with an animal? or the shop's attendant?
Author's Note: still for astrangerenters , her fic request for the Help Japan Auction... as a sorry for taking so long... and i hope you like it...

“Becky-chan! Becky-chan! Wait for me!” Aoki cried in exasperation as the older woman hastened her footsteps to catch up with her ward. “I told you we shouldn’t be leaving the shop! They said you should be fitting your kimono. You’re father would be searching for us any moment now!”

“Aoki-chan~” Becky complained playfully as she stopped in front of another shop. “Father said I can go out and buy my own things! I’m 21 now, remember?”

“He also said you should always have with you one of your guards,” Aoki said, shaking her head endearingly as she reached the younger woman, Becky only sighing in response.

Kimura Becky, after all, even at age 21 would never be allowed by her father, Kimura Takuya, the president and chairman of the board of Kimura Global, especially considering that she was once kidnapped (and had almost died during the rescue) when she was just 10.

“You’re with me, right?” Becky replied cheekily. “Come on, I just wanted to buy a pet. Father said I can choose a pet I like,” she added, pointing towards a pet shop 2 shops away from them.

Aoki sighed and shook her head. “You and your love for animals,” she said, chuckling as the two of them headed towards the pet shop. “Seriously, if your father would ever allow you to buy all the animals you like, we’d end up having our own zoo at the house!”

“That would be a good idea!” Becky exclaimed, the sunflower in her eyes dancing. When Aoki dug her heels to the ground though and looked at her in exasperation, she chuckled and said “It was just a joke!”

Aoki had just exhaled in relief when Becky added cheekily, and just for the sake of playing jokes at her companion, “Besides, we can’t fit a zoo at the house. We’ll have to find a bigger place for that!”
-----

“Aiba!” Yamaguchi Tatsuya, also known as Gussan, the owner of Animal’s Haven, cried from the door leading towards the backroom, calling out for one of the part-time assistants of the shop.

A split-second later, something huge bounced out of nowhere right in front of Gussan that the guy had to take a few steps back just so he can see what that thing really was. As it happens, the bouncing ball of energy was a person, and that person has a name. it just so happens that his name is the very name Gussan was calling, Aiba.

“You called boss?” Aiba asked in a loud and energetic voice.

“How many times do I have to tell you not to jump around the shop?”

“Sorry,” Aiba replied sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.

Gussan sighed and shook his head in amusement of the younger man’s antics. He knew that the guy is already 24 or something but it’s almost as if he’s still a kid sometimes. The guy loves jumping around and would more often than not forget the more serious parts of orders.

Still, Gussan had not fired him because of the main fact that the guy really likes animals, well, everyone working in Animal’s Haven loves animals, but it just so happens that the animals like Aiba back. (Unlike another assistant, Jun, who likes animals but the animals don’t normally feel the same about him. That one he did not fire too because of the fact that he’s very efficient with work.)

“Anyway,” Gussan said instead. “Jun and I would be picking up some food deliveries for the animals for a bit. Take care of the shop for a while.”

“You mean I would be in-charge?” Aiba exclaimed in delight.

Gussan looked at him seriously, and for a split second, he seriously did think of taking the order back before he chuckled and said “I might be regretting this sooner or later but yes. Yes, you’ll be in-charge.”

Aiba grinned as his hand sprang to his forehead for a salute.

“Thank you sir!”
-----

“Thank you very much! Please visit us again!” Aiba greeted as two customers headed out of the shop with a cage held between them. Nino, the cashier, having just confirmed the sale of a pair of hamsters to them.

He didn’t turn around when he heard the door chimes tinkling, not simply because he assumed that it was just the opening of the door for the two customers heading out but also because the occupant of the cage right next to him started barking loudly. He knew that it was a “happy” bark, not only because of the sound of it but because he’s very much familiar with all the animals in the shop, especially to that particular puppy, a month and a half old Shiba Inu that came to them earlier that month.

Turning to it with a huge smile on his lips, “I’m sorry puppy-chan, we can’t play right now,” he said. If he had his way, he’d have named the puppy already, but he knew that if he named it, he’d get too attached that it would be paiful when the time comes that someone buys the puppy. The puppy, by the looks of it, seemed to have understood what he said because while it barked one more time, it did lay down.

Aiba couldn’t help but smile as he headed towards the back of the room to check on the other animals there. It was after all, what Gussan usually does when he’s there. But then the Shiba Inu started barking again and Aiba saw Nino signaling him to go back at the corner of his eyes.

When he turned around, he realized that it was both because of the arrival of a new pair of customers, who are, by then, heading towards the cage of the Shiba Inu puppy.

“That’s a really cute puppy!” he heard the younger woman exclaim.

Gussan’s training had taught him that he should approach the customers already, to assist them in their purchase, but Aiba found himself rooted to the spot. There seem to be something about the younger woman freezing him to the spot. And it wasn’t simply because she was beautiful, even though she really is. There was something about her, maybe it’s the eyes, but there’s something about her that really caught his eyes.

And at that moment, he realized that while he may have never thought of stuff like love at first sight, he may just be in a crush at first sight state.
-----

“I want this one,” Becky whispered to Aoki, her eyes shining, just as they approached the loudly barking dog by the corner of the shop.

They really had just entered the shop called Animal’s Haven but the moment they did, her eyes were immediately caught by the cute animal.

“But you haven’t even seen any of the animals yet!” Aoki exclaimed. “Don’t you think you should look around first? There might be something else you might want more.”

“Not likely,” Becky smiled as she crouched in front of the animal and started waving at it. The animal yelped and jumped in response.

“But…” Aoki just started when one of the attendants of the shop approached them.

“Yes ma’am, how may I help you?” the guy asked.

Prying her eyes from the animal, Becky started “This dog…” but whatever else she had to say, she forgot when her eyes landed on the attendant.

The guy is tall and really good-looking. To a certain extent, he could be considered as pretty. But what really caught her was the smile on his face. It’s not like the trained smiles store attendants have on when approaching customers. His looks really genuine, and heartwarming, like he really spends the rest of the day with that smile plastered on his lips.

For some reason, she felt like he’s looking at her closely too. But then his eyes turned to the dog and chuckled.

“You made a very good choice ma’am,” he said with a smile and Becky thought that the look he gave the dog was something sort of endearing. Quickly, her eyes located the name plate that was part of his uniform. It read Aiba.

“This cute little puppy here is one of the newest additions to our family,” Aiba was saying as Becky made herself turn back to the dog. “It’s a month and a half boy of the Shiba Inu breed. We can take it out if you like, so you can hold it.”

“We can?” Becky exclaimed excitedly, turning to the guy. She’s not that sure if the increased beating of the heart was because of the dog or the guy now taking the dog out of its cage. Her eyes seem to be moving more towards the latter than the former though.

“Ah, he really is cute!” Aoki exclaimed next to her, making Becky’s eyes move to the dog Aiba was now handing her.

“Aaah!” she exclaimed as she felt the dog’s fur beneath her hands. It felt really fluffy and her attention was once again captured by the dog as she ruffled its fur. “It’s really pretty, isn’t it?”
-----

“Yeah,” Aiba murmured, his eyes moving towards her face rather than being trained on the dog. He’s not sure if that reply is referring to the dog or to her.

His whole attention was so entranced that he didn’t even hear the tinkling of the chimes again. He almost jumped when a deep male voice suddenly spoke from next to them.

“I was looking everywhere for you,” the guy was saying, his eyes on the younger woman. The older woman had stepped back and bowed to the new arrival.

Turning to the man, couldn’t help but take in a deep breath. The guy had an undeniable presence.

“Dad!” the younger woman exclaimed, startling Aiba a bit. The guy did look older, but he didn’t really look that old to be a father. “I just wanted to buy myself something.”

“They have the clothes ready for you,” the guy said. It wasn’t in a stern voice or anything of that sort, but there’s no mistake in the order behind those words. “Your mother would be finished with hers by now.”

The girl just pouted playfully at him before she smiled and handed him back the puppy in her hands.

“Okay, dad!” she cheered, kissing the guy lightly on the cheeks before heading her way out of the shop, closely followed by the older woman she was with earlier, one that Aiba now assumes to be her companion.

His eyes had unconsciously followed ‘Becky’ as she waltzed out of the shop that he didn’t realize that the guy she called father was looking at him seriously. Only after the door closed did he realize that the guy was still next to him and he couldn’t help but swallow hard.
-----

“So, that was Kimura Takuya-san, huh?” Nino exclaimed as the chimes tinkled again, signaling the closing of the door.

“How did you know his name?” Aiba exclaimed in surprise, turning to his friend and co-employee at the counter.

“He signed his name when he bought that Shiba Inu, didn’t he?” Nino snorted. “Of course I’d see his name.”

“It would have been better if you found out her name,” Aiba murmured, completely without any intent of making the guy hear his words, his head turning towards the door where the girl had exited earlier. He can still vividly remember her face, especially her eyes. It looked like it had sunflowers in them.

Nino, though, still heard what he said as evidenced by a sudden chuckle elicited by the guy.

“What makes you think I don’t know her name?”

Although taken aback, Aiba bit the dare in Nino’s words. “And how would you know what her name is?”

Nino smirked knowingly. “Since he’s Kimura Takuya-san, the girl earlier would most likely be his only daughter, Kimura Becky. From what I’ve heard, she’s just a few years younger than us.”

“She didn’t look very Japanese though,” Aiba replied. “How can she be his daughter?”

“Because Kimura Takuya-san’s wife had mixed blood,” Nino smiled.

“Oh…” Aiba exclaimed, looking towards the exit again. “Becky huh…”
-----

“He’s really cute!” Becky exclaimed as she settled the Shiba Inu on the floor at her room. They had already arrived at their house when her father revealed to her a package he had one of the guards deliver to the house before them. “I can’t believe dad bought him!”

Aoki chuckled. “You’re father knows you too well to know that you’ve fallen in-love at that shop,” she said.

Becky knew that Aoki was referring to her reaction to the dog when she said ‘fallen in-love at that shop’ but somehow, she felt the heat rising to her cheeks at the memory of the ‘other’ contents of that shop.

“Yeah,” she could only say as she kept her hands busy with ruffling the dog’s fur.

If Aoki noticed anything different about her or not, the older woman didn’t say a thing. Instead, she just smiled and asked “So, what are you going to name this one?”

Becky closed her eyes for a minute, and for the nth time since leaving the animal shop, her mind was filled with the image of the attendant there. For some reason, she just seem to keep seeing his smile.

And that’s when inspiration hit her. Opening her eyes with a smile, she picked up the Shiba Inu and made it face her.

“I’m calling you Aiba!”
