SUMMARY: Sho never thought he and Jun had that much in common...
Sho had never thought he’d have that much in common with Matsujun.
Sure, the five of them in Arashi all get along great together, over a decade long of friendship tends to do that, but they had long since acknowledged the fact that they don’t really have anything much in common with one another. After all, they were five different individuals, with five completely different personalities and characteristics, and with five different backgrounds. In fact, when Arashi debuted, the question arose on whether or not those five people could co-exist.
Over a decade years later, it turns out that they could. And it also turns out that they weren’t as different as they thought they were.
He wouldn’t really say it out loud but he had joined Nino and Aiba with the occasional Jun ribbing after Jun and his then co-star, Mao, got together, resulting to some experiences that their youngest had never been through. Jun, after all, wasn’t really the homey type before 2007. As against losing as he is, he’s not really that much of the jealous type. And Jun, definitely, had never felt jealous of an animal, a dog, ever in his life prior to Mao.
But all that changed when he had to share his girlfriend’s attention with the little mutt of a pet her girlfriend calls “Hug-chan”.
And he and Aiba and Nino all just laughed at that dilemma of his (Ohno just smiled and patted Jun’s back); Aiba because he is Aiba and he likes treading the fine line between safety and danger especially when it’s about animals or his group mates, Nino because he’s Nino and it would be totally out of character if he didn’t (and also because he’s slightly miffed at Jun for being the boyfriend of one of her crushes) and him because, well, it was just funny. After all, there really is something ridiculous about getting jealous of a pet.
Little did he know that it wouldn’t take long for him to have to eat his words.
And never did he thought he’d ever felt jealous of a dog the same way Jun had (and still is).
But by the turn of the next decade, Sho realized, completely, what Jun feels. It’s the exact same way he feels for the pet called “Mellonpana-chan”.
He was seated by the living room of his girlfriend of almost a year now and the mere fact that some stuff toys are in scattered in the area already declared that it wasn’t his (well, it’s almost his). And he once again feels understanding for their Jun’s predicament as he eyed the animal next to him.
Kyoko is currently in the kitchen preparing their food, and after numerous incidents in the kitchen when Sho volunteered to help, Sho had decided to stay in the living room for their safety and that of the apartment. This also meant. However, that he stays in the same room with his girlfriend’s pet.
If he really thinks about it, and if he’s unbiased, he could actually say that the dog is kind of cute.
But he is biased, and felt righteous to be. After all, the dog is getting most of Kyoko’s attention even when he’s there. For example, when Kyoko entered the living room from her bedroom after she changed, the first thing she did was head to the sofa to ruffle Mellonpana-chan’s fur and play with him a bit before turning to him and giving him a quick kiss on the cheeks before saying that she’s heading for the kitchen.
He’s not saying of course that he isn’t content with that. He’s saying that it is hard to compete for attention against the animal. It also is hard to feel compassion for the animal even if he is as cute as he is. And he somehow has this urge of piling up Kyoko’s numerous stuff toys on the dog, which really, would be very easy considering the number of stuff toys in the living room alone and the size of Kyoko’s pet.
Before he could do anything rash though, Kyoko’s voice floated from the kitchen saying “Dinner’s ready!” and just as he stood, so did Mellonpana-chan and even raced him to the kitchen. To his misfortune, the dog won meaning that he got Kyoko’s attention first too.
He had already seated himself on the table when Kyoko finally looked up with a smile before that smile turned into a small chuckle when she saw his expression, a mixture of dejection and giving up.
“Oh come on, don’t tell me you’re getting jealous of our baby?” she said.
Sho snorted although he smiled. “I don’t think I’d want to call that thing our baby…”
Kyoko giggled before shaking her head and putting down Mellonpana-chan on the floor for it to head towards its food pan.
“Oh really?” Kyoko challenged as she took a sit next to Sho. “And why is that?”
Sho pretended to think for a while before looking at her with a smile that could rival Aiba’s most innocent one.
“I’d rather we make our own...” he simply declared, making Kyoko smile and blush simultaneously.
“Eat Sho!” Kyoko ordered after a while, her face resolutely turned to her plate with her cheeks and ears turning red.
Sho chuckled and shook his head. He was just about to do what he’s told when something entered his mind and he suddenly pulled her to him by the waist, taking her by surprise, and subsequently taking her lips.
It didn’t take long for Kyoko to start responding to his kisses too as her hands entwined by the back of his neck to pull him closer. The kiss didn’t last long though, mostly because they needed to breathe, and when they did, Kyoko smiled and shook her head endearingly at him.
“Now, eat!”
Sho grinned, this time, a grin worthy of Nino in his slightly mischievous state as he did what he was told.
In the back of his mind though, he understood what Jun once said with regards to his issue with Mao’s dog.
“I just keep in mind that I can do things to Mao that her dog could never do…” Jun said simply when, after about a year of feeling resentment towards Hug-chan, declared that he’s buying a gift for the dog.
And he agrees with the guy, in a slightly more perverted way (which may be what Jun meant).

astrangerenters this isn't your fic request... something like a temporary filler while i work on it... but i don hope you like it still... and i promise i'm already working on your story...
She was normally the optimistic one, the one who sees the better part of the picture (if not the bigger one), the one who normally and usually just smiles through the thick of it all. She always had a smile on her face that matches the supposed sunflowers that are visible in her eyes. After all, she is Becky, the happy, smiling, bubbly and imaginative Becky.
But even Becky has her off moments, the moments when she feels so completely down. And the thing about her down moments is that when she’s down, she’s really down. And it would be a very difficult ordeal to brighten her up.
And she just happened to be in one right now.
Her day started fine. Actually, it started great. She woke up to be told by her mom that their pet snake is shedding it’s skin yet again and so, with the rest of the family, they converged around it’s cage and sang it Happy Shedding day. She wasn’t even late when she went to her first appointment for the day, a pre-recording for her next single and was in fact in a very good mood even after the interview that preceded that recording. It was after that interview that things went from bad to worse.
She was stuck in traffic as she headed for their base studio for Tensai! Shimura Doubutsen and to make matters worst, or, to be honest, that which really dampened her mood, she found out when she rushed into the girl’s greenroom that one of her key chains had somehow broke off and it wasn’t anywhere in the greenroom, along the hallway, or at the car. Chances are, it broke off at the restaurant where she had that interview. And, if that’s the case, chances are it’s already lost.
Now, if it had been any other key chain in her whole set of key chains, she would have just let it go (she had so many, after all), but the key chain that broke off and is now essentially lost is special to her. It was the key chain she bought on the 2nd day of her first single’s release, something she bought to remind herself of everything she had to go through before actually becoming a singer and a sort of celebratory gift for passing their estimated sales for the first day.
And it was a really cute one too, a miniature stuff toy that’s way too small for an actual stuff toy but a lot bigger than the usual key chain.
And its loss is taking a toll on her.
Sure she doesn’t allow it to affect her work, she went on the shoot with all smiles and energy, but behind the camera’s she was pretty down.
The whole cast is actually on a 45-minute break as the set changed Ken-chan and the others shot the necessary two shots for their personal assignments. She had already shot hers a few days before as her current assignment is a continuation of a previous work she’s been assigned.
This is why she chose to sit herself on one of the tables at the far side of the lounge with her notebook and a pen in hand, willing herself to write things out. About 30 minutes had already passed since she went on break and the only thing she can show for it are the scribbles on her notebook.
She still feels down with regards to the lost of her beloved key chain.
She was just sighing for the nth time in that half hour span when the seat next to her was pulled and there sat Aiba Masaki, slightly panting, a bit sweaty and breathing heavily, but with a huge smile on his face.
“What happened to you?” she ended up asking, her curiosity surpassing her depression for a few seconds.
Aiba didn’t reply immediately. He just sat there, panting and smiling at her. It took him about half a minute more before he could actually catch his breathe enough for him to reply “I went out.”
“Huh?” Becky exclaimed, her eyebrows momentarily furrowing. “I thought you were scheduled to shoot something with Shimura Ken-chan?”
“Yeah…” Aiba replied. “I did that first before I went out,” he reasoned.
Becky was about to ask why but she decided not to. After all, the guy is perfectly free to do as he wishes although leaving the set just like that, and obviously on foot, would be dangerous for him, especially considering his profession and status.
She had just turned back to her notebook when she felt the idol move next to her and the next thing she knew, there was some sort of chain dangling in front of her. Turns out, Aiba is dangling some sort of chain bracelet in front of her eyes.
“What’s this?” she asked, turning around to look at the guy.
Aiba smile and shrugged. “I couldn’t find something like that one you lost so I thought I’d just give you this in exchange…”
Becky felt a smile creeping up to her lips as soon as those words left his. Letting her fingers feel through the interlinking chains of the bracelet, “I lost a keychain Aiba-chan, not a bracelet…” she told him.
It doesn’t really matter that it was the wrong item in front of her, but the mere thought of what he did already caused her depression to lift. She didn’t expect what she said next though.
“Well, I’m willing to be your keychain,” he told her.
Taken aback, all Becky could do was widen her eyes at him before she slowly beamed and pulled the guy for a hug as she fought back tears that attempted to escape her eyes.
“I’d love that…” she told him before adding in a chuckle “The one I lost wasn’t quite this big, or bubbly, or sweaty…”
Aiba could only laugh as he hugged her back.
“Yeah, and this time, you won’t lose me…”
