Please don't be overly dramatic

Among the TV shows that I frequently watch, I think the most common and annoying fault is the overuse of dramatic elements such as death, near death, suicide, and of course the accompanying hysterics and tears. I just don't think it is right for producers to make more money from a show, or for the audience to enjoy it more, at the cost of getting someone killed--even if they are "merely" fictional characters!

(But I know I had been a little hypocritical. Please forgive me, Willy Fraser...)
