Some Good Things(TM) happened today.
I can't tell you about one of the good things, for the same reason why, according to my imagination, Cecily wanted to keep her engagement a secret--I can't help being a little afraid that if I had told someone about it, I'd realize tomorrow that it was just a mistake, that the good thing wouldn't happen, after all.
But I can talk about the other good thing. I'm now the owner of the whole Little House series--all the nine books. I bought the first two books two months ago and finished them this morning. I like these two books. Even though IMHO they are not as beautifully written as LMM's books and also a little too childish for me, they are good, sensible, cheerful and refreshing. The way they built a house from scratch is especially intriguing, and the family's problems with the Indians remind me of news reports between Palestine and Israel--sometimes, what's fair and what's not are really not all that obvious.
I should be quite happy now. Actually I think I AM happy deep in my heart, though on the surface I somehow feel rather nervous. Anyway, good news is always better than bad news :)
