Who: Buffy Summers & Dean 'Maverick' Winchester
What: Ben's having nightmares; she feels Dean needs to be aware of it. Also, Buffy hasn't actually spoken more than a sentence to Dean since... well... yeah, that. It's time to stop feeling awkward.
Where: 1106 A Street {Buffy's place}.
When: Early evening, June o9th, 2o1o.
Warnings: None, at present.
She'd been debating whether or not she should talk to Dean about Ben coming into her room for a couple of days, at this point. On one hand, Ben was his son; he needed to know these things, and she was sure he wouldn't appreciate having them kept from him. On the other, the kid was proud. Tough. He'd obviously not wanted to wake his father about having nightmares, and had chosen the gentler hand. Buffy had a tough decision to make about it.
But after talking to him, consoling and comforting him, and playing over it in her head a few times, she chose the former of the options. Dean needed to know that his child was having trouble sleeping; needed to know that these nightmares were waking him up, frightening him enough that he felt the need to come down to her room. She was flattered that Ben trusted her so much, but... she wasn't his parent. She could fill in if he needed it, if either of them wanted her to, but there wasn't that solid familial blood tie between them. She didn't have guardianship. That was Dean's territory, and she knew that Ben was a fairly new addition to his life. She cared about both of them, and thought it in their best interest to share with him. That wasn't all that was on her mind, of course, but it was the main thing - and the most important. She'd shuffle the rest away, for now.
She waited until Ben was busy doing something elsewhere, then made her way down the hall from her bedroom to theirs. Buffy lifted her hand, and rapped her knuckles lightly against the door frame. If Dean wasn't home, or busy, she'd come back later. She just... hoped he was there.
