Chase didn't understand what was happening. He couldn't think, he couldn't form words not past the pain of his body being sewn back together, to the process of being returned. Words wouldn't, couldn't cover how it felt.
His mind simply refused to process what was happening.
When it was finally over he could no longer scream, his voice raw from what felt like it may well be years of screaming.
He finally lost the energy to scream, as he passed out in the hospital.
It was hours later before he started to stir. "Wh-" he coughed "Wh- What happened?" he whispered
