There is IC Stuff that you are in fact unaware of. It's not a public declaration just yet, merely a bunch of folks stating their opinions on and off some lists.. hence no reason for an ST to have contacted you yet.
How is a poll gathering support for an IC status strip being spread by OOC word of mouth and gchat messages above board? There is 0 accountability IC for characters that are trying to rally the support.
It happens a lot, and it's not a good thing. IC and OOC need to have mch stricter lines or were just playing politics on easy mode.
It is more IC than OOC. "A public in-character sensure of target character", and "Characters may defend themselves by getting support from other characters opposed to the strip/expulsion" both seem pretty clear that at least those parts of the process are all IC. It is silly to think that gathering the original support to strip can be done OOC. The rules mention a clear OOC note being attached, I beleive that is just to clarify the mechanics and how much status each of the supporters carries.
The rp doing done is great, I've seen a bit of it myself. The OOC garnering support is rather hinky, although common. Not a comment on anyone in particular, or even this status movement, but the status game in general.
It is less the strip I care about than the OOC methodology being used. Just because the end result of iffy behavior is an end result I don't fret either way doesn't mean I'm going to be content with the iffy behavior.
Have you spoken to the people doing it or just put this post up? Because everyone here is just guessing as to what is going on, how it's going on, and why it's going on. And you know, the first step of Conflict Res is talking to the other party not talking on LJ

We both have status 4 Acolytes so that's something at least :)

2) It's Status...the most useless dot on a character sheet ever

If I were playing Mackenzie still, I would likely start up a google group status thingy for LS Status to support you keeping Crone 5 :)
But, I'm snarky like that.

I needed that laugh.

Exactly.
