you know i noticed somthing today, lindon b. johnson miraculously got to e president in the 60's, he was a middle aged disgruntled texan, shortly after he became president he used a sorry ass excuse to put us in a war we had no business to be in, there were serious american casualties, many marines killed in a particular battle, and most of these men were ages 18 to 25. there was no american support for this was afew year in. not from he public or the senate. in the later days of this war gas prices skyrocketed from 35 cents a gallon to almost a dollar a gallon cripplin detroits ability to create large fast engines that run on gasoline. so america turned to alternative feul sources such as gasohol and began playing with the idea of hydrogen engines. thses endevours were abondoned due to lack of government funding shortly after the american consumer and the wages caught up to the higher gas prices.
so here weare almost 40 years later, george w. bush has miraculously become president, has used a sorry ass excuse to get us into a war we have no business in, there have been serious american caualties, especially at battles such as fellujah, most o these men and women are ages 18 to 25, there is barely anysupport for this was in the senate or the american public, in the past few years gas prices have skyrocketed from a dollar a gallon to almost 3 dollars a gallon, once again cripplin the american car companies ablity tomakelarge strong engines that run on gasoline, the public is slowly turning to alternative feul sources, such as gasohol and biodeisel as well as the car companies playing with the idea of hydrogen powered engines, golf cart technology has been implimented in cars,
if this doesnt prove that history repeats itself then i dont know what will, the thing about gas doesnt piss me off as much as the fact that 2,381 young men and women have died and 17,292 have been injured, 4,546 of them permanently disabled. think about it for aminut, these people could be your friends your classmates, the people you grew up with, either dead unable to work or recovering from injuries, how this for putting things into perspective??
