Danny was sitting in the DNA lab waiting for the results to come through, lost in thought. He was remembering the email he received the night before.
“Danny,
I’m sitting on my deck in the moonlight thinking of you up in New York. I know that it’s late and you are probably in bed sleeping, but I can’t help keep myself from picturing you.
What are you wearing tonight? Are you even wearing your sleep pants or did you decide to forego them and just wear your briefs? Are you too hot tonight? Have you kicked off your covers so that you would be exposed to my sight if I was standing in the doorway watching you?
Would you wake if I softly lay down next to you and pulled you in my arms, or would you snuggle close and continue to slumber?
I have watched you sleep Danny and the thought makes my heart swell with pride that I can call you mine. You are such a beautiful young man and I am blessed every day that I took the opportunity to call you mine.
The day has been long and stressful and I find that sitting here thinking of you has calmed me enough so that I may be able to sleep tonight and find comfort in my dreams.

Danny was pulled out of his thoughts by the printer printing out the results. Smiling and placing his glasses back on, Danny picked up the print out and got back to work.
He would have time to think more about Horatio later, in the private of his own time.
