"Princess, please be careful," Rolo said as he waited for her under her window. It was very late and very dark. He didn't want to risk letting their intentions be known by bringing a flashlight. Their position was too precarious already. He wanted to keep their plan as secret as possible.
A giggle escaped Nunnally Lamperouge's lips. She looked down to assess the distance of her window to the ground to prepare herself. As a young woman, she was not scared of heights. She idolized her mother who was a Knightmare pilot so she decided that she would never fear anything. Not even her big brother's threats of punishment could unfaze her.
"Don't be silly," the brown-haired girl said playfully. Princesses were supposed to be delicate and pretty. Well, she had set her mind on being a different kind to change Rolo's mind. "I'm not afraid of anything."
"We're eloping, Princess." Rolo pointed out rationally. "We should be scared to death."
Nunnally rolled her eyes. She threw her backpack to the ground and he promptly caught it. With a deep breath, she went to her makeshift ladder made of braided blankets. Her boyfriend held his breath as she slowly climbed down. When she knew that she was within a safe distance, she let go and allowed herself to fall backwards.
Closing her eyes, she trusted that he would have enough common sense to catch her. In a moment that stretched between one second to eternity, she felt herself land between his skinny arms. The impact threw them both down to the cold, hard ground. She burst out laughing. Her boyfriend immediately clapped a hand to her mouth and glared at her reproachfully.
"You could have died," he scolded quietly as he helped her back to her feet. "You gave me a heart attack, Princess!"
Nunnally shut him up with a kiss. Counting the remaining seconds in her head, she let him go.
"You're so romantic," she said before running away towards the other direction. Rolo had no choice but to follow her. The alarms went off and they could hear Lelouch's frantic shouting.
